16-year-old Hayate is really down on his luck. His unemployed parents are good-for-nothings who waste the money they have on gambling. One day, his parents have racked up a huge gambling debt that they had to sell Hayate to the yakuza for the value of his organs. In a desperate attempt to avoid that fate, Hayate decides to become a "bad guy" and kidnap someone to be held for ransom, but his efforts to do so are mistaken as a confession of love by the girl he targets.

Is anyone else watching this awesome anime? It's probably the best comedy I've seen all summer. The anime references other popular anime's frequently, which adds to the hilarity. For example, some characters power up like in dragon ball Z, a robot blows up and makes a cross just like NGE, among others. Just in the mid twenties of the episode's Ive seen almost every popular manga, anime, video game, and movie around in a comedic fashion

I think this show is awesome, anyone else agree? Care to share thoughts about the show? Post 'em here, folks

Its not a secret that i LOVE this show. It's so silly, so dumb and so incredibly well made on a satiric point of view lol
There is so much jokes in it there time i have to stop and rewind to view a scene again because i know I missed some funny element.
I wonder how many lawsuit they got or if everyone is playing along?
Inuyasha statue, Pikachu frame... there is so much in even the background that I can't stop looking everywhere to find more satyr ~

And let's admit it, the story is fun, she is a total Otaku and he is deseaperatly trying to please her ~ It's very funny ^_^ Go watch it guys!

yeah i'm just waiting for another season or whatever, its a pretty funny show and it made me lol, i usually see references to other Anime's like Moetan and Conan. The show is basically funny and little romance involved but that makes it much better since romance takes too long and *****s up the episode

I think that's it's funny, but it's a little messed up that's the only bad thing.

Its not that funny at all. Hayate all the time is a helpless idiot and a complete loser. I would laught if i were 16 or less, but right now aside from Hayates parents i barelly find anything worthy of my laughter.

definitly, we are born to disagree =P I think it's a great "funny situation" anime. I loved it so much when it was first out i waited for episodes to be released.

I think I like how they make fun of her because she is a total hyper stereotyped otaku spoiled kid ^_^

And yes, Hayate is a total loser... and i think that part of what make him so funny ^_^

It one of those "low brainer" anime that I seem to be able to enjoy~
The type you turn the switch of your brain to "off" and laugh ^_^

Cmon, the Hayate total lose really is weak. The parts where he introduced him self to school, when he asked her out to be kidnapped/abducted are one of best parts. But deffinatly not being shoved all over by a girl, freaking have dignity ffs.

I like the kendo-red-hair girl, Hayate and his master, but the butler fighting... wtf, not close to fun, maybe in manga it is better.

I watched up 2 like ep 4 and cudnt find ne more so I stopped watching (this was pre AC)
