Actually I think Bones knew how the manga would end already when the last series was made (at least partially)..but Hirumo asked them not to make the anime too much like the manga to avoid spoilers, since they already knew it would end before the manga. Brotherhood is better. But the old anime is awesome too XD |

I really do hope it doesn't go off on a tangent again, though I haven't read the manga (I really don't want to so I can savour the anime) but comparing it.. I think the original series dragged a lot out, but even back then the animation and style was really good. Meh, I like the direction brotherhood is going though, better animation ofc (seeing as it's being made a while after the original) but it's a little too slapstick at times. (not that I don't like slapstick :3)

I just started going back and reading the manga of some of my favorite anime and I was surprized to see so many diffrenties in the story as well as endings. I didn't know that anime and manga differ so much I thought all anime way based off the mange story line all the time not get with fillers.

it“s true that the story of brotherhood is much better than the originall fma but up till now I like the original more because it took more time for letting the audience get to know the charas and it had much more drama in it but since brotherhood started to go another storyline than fma it got really amazing so if it goes on with such qualitie i“m positive that it will surpass fma |

agree. the fma: brotherhood seems to make more sense than the first FMA. though i havent read the manga yet [planning to] i love the story thats going on so far in fma: brotherhood :]
