I`ve missed some of the episodes of FMA, so I´m actually watching both FMA and FMA Brotherhood. It makes it a bit confusing sometimes, but I only have myself to blame
Rofl. I was watching FMA Brotherhood, and then since I had nothing else to do, I rewatched FMA. It actually got kinda confusing, since the events happen at different times in the two animes. Rofl.

Lightbulb Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood discussion

Hell, it's ranked number four and has been at number four for quite a while on the website.

It is an awesome show and deserves more recognition.

All who have seen the original, what's your opinion of the completely new story? Personally I like much more the direction this new story is telling. What do y'all think?

It did have recognition.

There was a FMA vs FMA Brotherhood thread and a proper discussion thread here.

Unfortunately, they got buried under the weight of other posts.

In fact, you posted in the former one, which asks the same question as the one in your latest post.

You know, after watching Hot Shots! I realised something. It's pretty obvious what was going to happen to Maes Hughes in both anime series and the manga.

He's practically the posterboy for retirony. The only way Arakawa could have made it more obvious is to do what Hot Shots! did and nickname him "Dead Meat".

P.S. I think I know why we never had a stickied topic. It's because FMA fans tend to be non-communatative. It seems they're not really that keen on talking about the Anime.

Yeah there isn't too much to really talk about. I mean it's a ****ing great story, but its like Gundam 00... You love it, but there ain't much to say about it...

I've been predicting the Brotherhood episodes and I've never read the manga.

Well, I haven't seen the newest episode yet, but I have seen the opening and ending themes. They spoil a few plot points with that, which is a silly thing to do.

EDIT: Scratch that. I've just watched the entire thing. It's decent and all, and does a good job of remixing the source material so it's not scene-by-scene identical. That's all I can say on the matter, though.

I just started watching brotherhood and while I do love FMA with all my heart I can't just decide between them. It's like watching parallel dimensions of the same world. They're similar but have completely different outcomes.
Btw I haven't read the manga and I'm told, in this thread, that brotherhood follows it better. Is it worth reading the manga to get the little things the anime glosses over? I know they aren't usually important to the storyline but are sometimes worth reading if only to explain the plot better.
