The story takes place in the ideal city "NO.6" in 2013. Shion was judged as having "highest-ranked intelligence" when he was two years old and was allowed to live in the luxurious area "Cronos". On his twelfth birthday, he met a beautiful boy called "Nezumi," who had escaped from a reformatory. Shion protected him, but the Public Security Bureau deprived Shion of all his privileges and expelled him from Cronos to "Lost Town". Four years after the banishment, a mysterious accident leads Shion to the secret of the city NO.6.

This one looks really good. Can't wait for it to come out.

2013? It's not really futuristic(maybe when the story was made, it is) but considering the advancement of technology in this anime even though science fiction, it made me laugh. Fundamentally, the essence of putting the year in the plot/synopsis would only mean that they would refer and relate it real life, maybe history. Now I don't get what the people that compose this anime is trying to show by putting the year when it clearly doesn't parallel to our world.

Rat look taller and older in the picture but in the anime it seems that they were only of the same age which is a good thing. With that I reminisce Pandora Hearts.

It looks like this anime won't have shounen-ai tendencies because the driving force of their companionship was curiosity. The story also is promising, featuring a young lad fed up of knowledge but lacks flexibility due to his lax lifestyle so this anime might eventually progress to his enlightenment in the controlled society he lives in. I'm seeing development close to conspiracy shows.

I loved the first ep. Ugh!!!!! I dont wanna wait another week!!

Good first episode I'm hooked, though the synopsis is almost like a spoiler I can imagine what happens in the next couple episodes just from the synopsis which is kind of lame.

I'm guessing we will catch up to that synopsis in the next ep making it less of a spoiler
So to me the first ep might just be the prologue (as in how it was before Shion "messed up") seeing as that Safety bureau thing already arrived and we'll make the time skip real soon... Just my opinion though^^
Anyway I think I'll like this anime... those two remind me of Allen (at least in the ending with white hair) and Kanda from D.Grayman; it's kinda funny to see them friendly (well more or less^^)

MY GOD, his composure is unbelievable as well as hers. How would anyone ask their friend for their sperm/sex when they aren't dating and how does the guy not laugh and have a shocked face when she said that.... so unrealistic LOL.

Getting into sexual intercourse then being pregnant first before getting married or totally not getting married at all, sort of things like that happened. Although they are living in a society where everything seems to be intellectual and emotions are being set aside but it's quite funny how she ask for it technically without getting flustured, perhaps the effect of 2013(+ 4 yrs)?....can't wait for the next 2(+4 yrs) years! lol

Anyways, I like the 2nd episode and I hope it turn out to something unexpected. Not the by-the-book conspiracy shows or a plot that is about the a government that wants to achieve higher level of scientific or economic growth so they use people as a test subject then we have heroes that will act to oppose and put an end to their tyranny or their experiment.

It's not the action, its how he reacted to it that makes it funny. Besides, what is the point of marriage in an intellectual society besides your (I am taken) status. If she was intelligent, why would she consider getting pregnant while studying abroad for 2 years? I don't think emotions were set aside when she asked for sex because she asked him if he thought of her as "More than a friend" when he declined her.

Kind of reminds me of the scientific fiction books I was forced to read.... *cough* Fahrenheit 451..... I could list a WHOLE bunch more off of my memory lol
