Uhh, I have been paying attention. Only the mechanics of the virus were explained. How it was created and where it came from are a total mystery. Moreover, all we know at this point is what the Daath organization's goals are. Nothing has been said about how it came into being or who leads it.

Where did the meteor come from? Was it purposefully sent to Japan by Daath or did it come from some abstract galaxy far, far away?

I don't think the series has been excellent in its execution at all, but I think it's at least clear they're intentionally leaving such things as "where the meteor came from" or "who the members of Daath are" up to the imagination. If they were to explore such things, it would stray too far from the central focus on Shuu, Mana/Inori, and Gai.

They like to do the 2 males 1 female scenario don't they, well I guess you can say 2 females in this case but they are kinda one in the same but not, still same sort of scenario though.

Actually hamlet does have a point since those are actually pretty important information that they left out. I'm pretty sure there are lots of anime watchers raging here and there about information being left out.

Then again, kanna made a really good point here.
