I've finished the series and I believe it'll be a while before it comes down from my list of favourite animes. The first couple of episodes were on the edge of acceptable, dangling dangerously into the depths of being labelled "boring". I thought it was going to be another one of those horror animes with blood, gore and more blood when I saw the opening. When the confusion about what Misaki actually was, died down; it started to become more interesting and I got hooked. If it wasn't for a major spoiler at the end dropped on me by a friend then I would've definetely enjoyed it even more. I give this a good 9/10. It's definetely worthwhile. |

Hey, I know Another finished a while ago but I found an image of the class rota which I'm going to share. It originally had the Japanese kanji on but I changed it to the romanji names. Hope you like it. Spoiler |

your also double posting. not allowed aside from that, i think this anime was quite nice. though characters were a bit too bland, and they didnt really explain much, its like "shit is happening to this class, so like deal with it and stuff"

So, I just finished marathoning Another, and I have to say I found it to be pretty darn amazing. As FujoshiFTW posted earlier, the first couple of episodes were kind of in danger of being 'boring', though looking back on that, maybe it had more to do with my confusion about where the plot was going. I really had a lot of "but what does that mean??" moments at the start. I don't know if anyone else felt it, but I love the really subtle development of dread and anticipation that this anime builds. With some anime, I find that there is a pattern of 'high tension->climactic battle/moment->comedic relief->repeat' cycle that occurs (not that I don't enjoy that!), but it made for a nice change to have a slower development. It was around episodes 8-9 that I realised I was sitting with my fists closed out of nervous anticipation, particularly when bits of information began to fit together in my brain. Was like Oh. My. Gosh. I see what's happening here! Definitely enjoyed this one! ![]() ![]() |
