Once upon a time there were two brothers, Hibito and Mutta. Hibito, the littler brother, had been blessed with good luck since the day he was born. Mutta, the elder, had always had bad luck. One day, looking up at the night sky, the two brothers saw a UFO. This experience made them both promise to become astronauts.

I'll watch it, but I am not expecting much from this series. The movie looks exactly like the anime though.

First episode is funny and a bit interesting. Hope the next episode might turn out to be as good as well.

The pressure of being an older brother. There are lots of moments that I was like that too. That instead of being proud, feeling intimidated when a younger sibling is achieving something while I don't. I feel that bro.

I like Uchuu no Kyoudai's first episode. Usually the introduction of this kind of anime is that they are going to elaborate on the settings first, i.e. Planetes, and the characters will come later but here the characters are the one being catered first. I have spots for space shows and all grown-up characters are something we don't see everyday in an anime. Mutta seems likable too with his wacky and straightforward-looking personality. The flashbacks didn't feel very cheesy at all. The OST is good too, especially when he's finding a job. Overall, the series launched off to a good start and this series seems like would focus more on the characters more than the intricacies of being a space-oriented series(setting).

I wasn't expecting much from this series but the first episode really got me attached. It started really strong, like really really strong. Love how they focused on character development like what iDeja has said and also really good voice acting from Mutta. The story just draws you in too.

I liked the ED and the OP was quite unique with its visuals and all.

Now i'm wondering how many episodes this awesome series is gonna get.

I wonder why you guys said it was old. It looks totally new to me, particularly the background, well, I guess the character designs aren't that flashy but was detailed indeed and you can tell them apart from one to another with ease.

Indeed, it didn't feel old to me. Old is something like the kanejou xx or smth like that. The character were also pretty modernized other than the background art.

Mutta sure didn't have any luck finding a job.
Guess headbutting the boss really came to bite him on the ass.
His brother on the other hand... was the one who followed his own dreams.
It's time Mutto did something with his life too and his chance just arrived!
Nice first episode, will give this anime a shot.
