| Busy | This is a revamped version of an old RP. I hereby state I have not created the main concept. Still working on it, Ideas are welcomed __________________________________________________ OOC/Character/Random thread: http://www.animecrazy.net/forums/fan...om-thread.html Group: http://www.animecrazy.net/forums/group.php?groupid=1420 Please keep from posting OOC chat here. If possible, OOC and any other chat should be held in the OOC thread. That's the point with one after all. Game masters: Twotails Bw __________________________________________________ "The year is 2350. Fifty-three test subjects lay face down on a table in a research lab called Lab 14. They are all injected with a type of serum nicknamed E2. E2 was made to create a superhuman, one who is capable of superior strength, speed, and intellect. Funded by the Military, thousands of experiments were done; leaving many to die either a slow and cruel death, or a quick and painless one. The experiment was a complete success. However it gave all of the “subjects” something other than just superior strength, speed, and intellect. It gave them one more additional power, unique to each different person. One could manipulate and create fire, while another was able to shoot volts of electricity from the tips of his fingers. The only negative side effect was that there entire eyes would change to one solid color. Five years later a breach in security of the facility gave the subjects time to escape. They retreated to a truly grotesque and horrifying place, the sewers. Once there they created a society, as if from the medieval ages, with nothing but the basic of technology. They became known as Rejects, and are now hunted by mankind for a reward by the government. Dead the government offers five hundred thousand, but alive the government will pay up to five million depending on their condition, abilities, and any other unique feature they posses." Old members will have to repost their character skeletons. __________________________________________________ You may choose between two classes; Hunters and Rejects. Hunters: Hunters are ordinary humans, but most of all soldiers trained to kill. They come from various countries, have unique stories, but they all fight with great power. Their hard training combined with altered bodies makes them excellent war machines, fighting for whatever they feel is right, or where the money takes them. Their powers are based on hard training and medicines. They don’t have superpowers, but they have extreme agility, intellect and strength. They usualy have one narrowed area of combat they have focused on, which may be assassination, stealth, close combat, spec-ops and so on. Rejects: Rejects are products of genetic experiments. They have gained powers beyond imagination, controlling elements, or gained physical or psychic strength you’ve only seen in comic books. They have also gained more elegant reflexes and refined senses. Their powers can be split into three main categories: elemental, physical enhancement or psychic warfare. __________________________________________________ There are three factions: Organization X: Only Hunters are allowed into the OX, but with a majority of the GM's supporting you, you may be a Reject Founded over 50 years ago under the name “Pages” (Pangaea Association for Genetic and Ethical Science) with the intention of controlling the new genetic branch evolving from the scientific and technological advances of the new age. The government quickly realized the unused potential in this new science, and re-considered the organizations goals. They moved the administrative from the Ministry of science, to the army, and it changed name to “Pangea Organization for genetic and biological advance”, but due to it’s classified and secretive nature, it’s widely spoken of as Organization X. During their genetic and biological experiments on different plants and flowers, they got the need of progressing to more advanced lifeforms. They decided to move onto “lesser” animals after a few months, and from there the step to the human body itself was short. The goal was to maintain a small special force containing genetically modified humans, and so the first Rejects as we know them came to life some 30 years from now, after years of failed experiments. When seeing the side effects, which were in most cases a painful and agonizing death, the OX decided not to give this to the big masses of the army. Another problem was that even kids of Rejects would get their own powers. The serum affected descendants. The only possible solution on this problem would be to completely shut the Rejects from the rest of the world. The risks proved to big. Instead, a mutated string of the Reject serum was invented. It is a modest version of its predecessor, but it was something. After the “Big Escape”, as the officials have name it, the OX were the ones put in charge for the immediate capture of the Rejects. Their targets however, proved to be harder to get a hand on than they suspected, and not willing to take the risk of alerting the commoners, the hunt for the rejects were somehow concluded a failure.. After years of low activity, if any at all, the OX have again risen to it’s former power, and have again started the chase for their fleeing experiments. As a member of the OX, you are referred to as a Hunter. You will have access to the most advanced weapons, vehicles and accessories. Will you hunt the savages, or question the intentions of your own emplpyer? The Rejects: There are only Rejects in this faction. After the first (successful) creation of the Rejects, the OX put them in cells to keep them in check until they were sure the Rejects would cooperate. After the first Reject recruit proved himself worthy of serving in the army, more were to follow. But soon questions started to pass around. Ethic questions. What right did the OX have to use them as mere objects of experiments? If they weren’t to be officially recognized, what rights would they have? And what about those that were forced to become rejects, what life did they have in front of them? Revolts broke out, through several years, and after a devastating system failure in the OX facility, almost all of the Rejects managed to escape to freedom. Some died in the attempt, while a few stayed with the OX out of various reasons. They fled to all parts of the world, but being the hunted, and with no formal rights, life was hard. After all, the governments denied your existence. But despite the hardship of their lives, most Rejects managed to live on. After the hunt on them was ended, some spoke of the possibility to build up their own societies, with their values, their traditions and their lives. This was turned down on an early stage, due to the fact that they had to stay hidden. The Rejects are a split people. Not in the question wether to stay for themselves, or to integrate themselves into the society, step by step; but also in the questions of wether revenge is right or wrong. The big majority of the Rejects are living in small societies (mostly consisting of ten-twenty of them) in the massive sewer systems under Pangaea, and most of those being the refugees from the OX facility, but there are quite a few youths living among them. The minority lives sides by side with humans, while a very few lives outside the borders of Pangaea. Being a Reject you have few material goods, with only your close friends and your unique powers to trust. Will you seek revenge on your creators? Or will you bring your race peacefully into the new age? The Syndicate: The Syndicate may consist of both Rejects and Hunters, although a majority of Hunters are preferred. Contact a GM if you want to be a Syndicate Reject. Apart from the normal mafia and gangs in the city, Pangaea also houses a more sinister and wretched collection of people: the Syndicate. The syndicate consists of anyone and no one, keeps themselves to everywhere and nowhere, always plotting. No one knows when it became operational, nor who started it and where. In short words: if you know something about it, you’re lucky. Or unlucky, depends on your survival skills. Although nothing is known for sure, it is rumoured that the syndicate are an umbrella organization, with rookies on the bottom and an elite on the top. The rookies are supposed to know nothing of the higher “ranks”, or anything about their higher goals. It is also rumoured that most of the organization are hitmen, contracted by anyone. Find one, and you might get some burdens removed. You’re at war with everyone. They are driven by money, by morale, or for the fun of it. What do you work for? What’s your mission?

| Busy | Part one Part I: the Ilircite • Spring, 2368. An expedition led by a talented scientist, a Reject and a visionary, John Murbrich made a stunning discovery. In the farthest reaches of the wilderness, unclaimed by any country, and almost uninhabitable for all but the most resilient fauna and flora, they found the mysterious mineral: Ilircite. Both the discovery and the results of countless tests were kept in secret. Only a select group of scientists and businessmen were allowed to learn of the fabulous characteristics of the mineral. • Spring, 2369. The city of Lypnos was founded in order to cater for the needs of the scientists and miners. With more people involved, the rumours of Ilircite’s intriguing characteristics began to spread, especially among the Military and Weapon-making companies of Pangea. Ilircite, supposedly, could be best controlled by a certain type of Rejects, and expertly prepared by them, had many uses. Let it suffice to say that if Ilircite-made goods were ever to be introduced to the market, the economy was bound to suffer a sudden and irrevocable change. • Summer, 2370. The silent rivalry for the sources of Ilircite and the means to forge it into wealth and power was in full swing. All the countries of Pangea had sent agents and money in order to buy, bribe and coerce the ruling oligarchy of Lypnos into sharing the new technology. The results were far from satisfactory. The Rejects didn’t want to cooperate… That could not be tolerated. Part II: 2371, the Hecatomb • More than 15 years have passed from the “Big Escape” of the first genetically enhanced humans. The Rejects’ population grew substantially, despite the efforts of Organization X and several Pharmaceutical companies to catch and control them all. The existence of Rejects had not yet been made officially known to the general public, and most ‘normal’ people never suspected they were living next door to a mutant. • Winter, 2370. The economic situation of the State of Pangea has worsened dramatically over the last few months. Unemployment rates reached unheard-of peaks, and the neighboring countries watched Pangea’s slow decrease in power and prestige with predatory interest. • January, 2371. Election campaign in the State of Pangea started among social unrest and failing economy. President Edwards, trying for the second term in office, was hard pressed to find support, while his contr-candidate, a well-known conservative MacDowell enjoyed a steady rise in popularity. Edwards was the favourite of the neighboring countries, valued for his balanced approach to foreign affairs, conciliatory nature, and tolerance in all aspects of life. For his part, MacDowell had close ties with both the Pharmaceutical business and the Military. His rather blunt opinions galvanized the public on many occasions and served to further the feeling of insecurity pervading the country. • May 21, 2371. The election campaign in the State of Pangea reached its most intense moment. The candidates were to hold a final debate in the Bicentennial Exhibition Hall in Pangea City. During the debate, MacDowell revealed the existence of Rejects, blaming them for the current state of affairs. What’s more, he used the information gathered by his silent supporters, and announced publicly that Edwards’ wife was a Reject, thus undermining all the actions Edwards might propose in favour of the Rejects, as both biased and harmful to the State of Pangea and its ‘rightful’ citizens. • June 1, 2371. MacDowell won the elections. Edwards and his allies were forced to leave the country, or face the wrath of the people. Thus, what was to be named “The Hecatomb” began in earnest. The Rejects were hunted down, and ruthlessly murdered or thrown into concentration camps, where they were used in various experiments. Many escaped to the neighboring countries or to the wilderness, where they were living a life of hunger and constant fear. • The Organization X entered into the 2nd period of prosperity, and the infamous Syndicate’s influences were reaching ever further. Part III: the Struggle • In ones and twos, in small groups and organized transports, the Rejects flocked to one oasis of relative peace and safety – the City-State of Lypnos. • After the Hecatomb started, the numbers of Rejects coming to Lypnos increased rapidly, straining the resources and the good-will of the inhabitants. The governors of Lypnos were forced to seek alliance with some of the less anti-Reject countries. • Today, in March 2372, the negotiations are still in progress. The leaders of Lypnos are desperate. The tempers are short. And the State of Pangea’s new President is being pressured by his supporters to get the technology of Ilircite no matter the cost…

| Busy | Locations: The world The world consists of two continents, Gondwana and Leurasia. The two of them are quite similar, both stretching away from the equatorial line. Both have a fairly huge desert and large areas of forests. The only difference would be Leurasia’s long peninsula stretching to the east, that consists mostly of steep and young mountains. Due to the extreme weather conditions on the planet, large parts are uninhabitable. Huge deserts are too dry and hot. Large forest areas are too rainy, humid and unhospitable. But the climate ain’t the only thing stopping you from settling in the available space. The wildlife on this planet is astonishing, not even your wildest fantasies would cope with it. Animals of all sizes, colours, shapes… carnivore or not, they pose a deadly threat to every adventurer. Really, the city seems safer. The liveable areas of the world are split into countries, like one normally would think, but city states are also represented. There is no world government, and the cooperation between the states concentrates on the economical dimension. After three world wars, and countless civil wars, the international political arena is left cold. Spoiler Gondwana Gondwana, where our story is set, is the more densely populated continent of the two, home for around 65% of the world’s population. Gondwana is also the continent where the least amount of its surface is inhabited, and thus has some of the most crowded areas of the world, and three of the world’s five most populated states are in Gondwana. There are several states covering Gondwana’s surface. First, we have Pangaea, the planet's financially strongest state, with Pangaea City as its capital. Then we have the smaller countries Pregaea, Panatia and Rodhenia, which are thought to be emerging superpowers, growing stronger by every year. Last, we have the somewhat poor underdeveloped countries: Nena, Ur and the Komatii Coast. There have been several attempts of populating the vast areas of the continent, but the Kenorian Desert and Gondwana Forest have proven too harsh for anyone’s taste. There are no valuable natural resources in those regions, so state governments have not shown particular interest in exploration and claiming the territories. But will the situation stay this peaceful? In the past ages, the imperialistic ideologies have led the continent into one bloody war after another, leaving the mankind decimated, and the environment - severely damaged. One of the most terrible conflicts was the Gaean civil war, giving birth to Pregaea on the west coast of Pangaea; and the Desert Race, where Ur, Rodhenia, Nena and Pangaea fought for control over the vast Kenorian Desert. Today, no international wars are being fought, although the situation on the borders between Pregaea and Pangaea is quite tense. Spoiler Pangaea Pangaea is a former city-state, which covered only the western coast of today’s wide stretched country. Being one of the first states of the world to have a somewhat modern society, it also was one of the first diving into the imperial ages, and quickly conquered large areas of the middle-Gondwanian continent. The government has done little to share the riches of the new state, and the ideal of “every man for himself” came in force. This has split the country in two in a massive civil war, but also created classes, which is still one of Pangaea’s few burdens. Pangaea City, which is the capital and largest city of the state, is the financial centre of Gondwana. Pangaea City is a modern city, the most populated in the world, and split into several townships. City Centre Sealed away from the rest of the city with a giant high-tech wall, the city centre is the place where the elites live. Some upper-middle class families can afford to live here, and it’s these that form the core of the city, and make up for the biggest part of its population. The City Centre is a jungle of skyscrapers, the newest technology and the latest fashions. It’s the location of most of the city’s administrative buildings, including the governmental palace. Other important sites include The OX headquarters, the Stock Exchange, the Supreme Court and, of course, the financial quarter. Spoiler Outer city circle Outside the City Centre you’ll find the broad masses of the middle class. Living in the old fashioned skyscrapers, their lives are still influenced by the technological news on the market, although not in the same way as in the City Centre. The houses are older, yes, but they are still standing. Spoiler Jamestown Outside the outer city circle, in the oldest and the cheapest houses dwell the lower-middle classes, mostly from western parts of Pangaea. Gaining little from the riches of Pangaea, the population tends to hold to themselves. Spoiler Sakura Also a home to the middle class, mostly from outside the country, Sakura is the more... luxurious part of Jamestown, built on the ancient city walls. Why? Because it was cheap. Nowadays, Sakura is the township with the least inhabitants, and after plans to demolish the city wall were announced by some large corporations, the population have sealed themselves from the rest of the city, and tends to act hostile to any outsiders. Spoiler Outskirts Due to the harsh population politics, the lower class have found it hard to get work inside town, which, in addition to the low wages, forces them to live in shacks outside the formal city borders. They themselves claim to be a legit part of the city, but the government refuses to accept that. Despite the obvious cold front, the inhabitants are said to be the most warm-hearted and hard working people of all Pangaea City. Spoiler Sewers Beneath the busy streets of Pangaea City, the massive sewer systems run. Just as modern and high-tech as the city above, the sewers are now home to many of the Rejects seeking refuge from the OX. Since everything is done automatically, there are few people actually working directly in the sewers, which makes them the safest place for thosenwho wish to avoid the government's attention. Spoiler
