"Ah, reputation," Shade said, seemingly ignoring the other parts of Cornelia's outburst. "An intriguing motivator to be sure. It's amazing the lengths some people will go to to increase their own prestige. I wonder, how far would you go, Miss Alba? How much do you want that?" His eyes narrowed, like a predator focusing in on his prey. "Would you go to any lengths? Perhaps we can be of some assistance to each other." Marcel looked from Cornelia to Shade. Of course she wouldn't take an offer from this guy. But then...she is a pretty hardcore magus. Did he really know her well enough to predict her answer? He was beginning to feel uneasy, as her attention seemed to be entirely focused on Shade as well. "Maybe I've bitten off more than I can chew," he thought, edging away slightly to see how this would play out. -------------- Fayline peered out from behind the edge as Victoria emerged, but she was not alone. "Be careful on your way back," she whispered as the flaming red hair of Alistair came into view. "I think Adrian suspects something." Alistair gave a soft laugh as he put a hand through Victoria's hair. "You leave Adrian to me. I hate seeing your pretty face lined with worry." Victoria blushed and moved away from Alistair's hand. "All right," she said, looking away. Fayline, using her woman's intuition, seemed to deduce that Victoria had feelings for Alistair but hadn't come right out and said so. She had to wonder if Alistair knew and was simply baiting her, or if he was ignorant of the signs. "Farewell then," he said, turning and walking down the hall toward the alcove where Fayline and Gabriel were hiding. Fayline managed to muffle a noise of panic as she squeezed in more against Gabriel to remain out of sight. Alistair passed by without seeming to notice them, while Victoria gave a forlorn sigh before returning to her room. Fayline let out a noise of relief before emerging from the alcove and adjusting her clothes from the tight squeeze. "So, what do you make of that?" she whispered to Gabriel.

Cornelia sighs "Seriously........" she takes a relaxed pose and slightly extends her arm upwards "Hmmmm, that I can't answer..." she starts to grin "I mean, I could start babbling how I would go to the end of the world for it, even challenge death countless times......But lets face it, in theory everything's nice and smooth, but in practice you can't really say the same." Cornelia closes her eyes and continues with a bored tone "I mean, for all we know when faced with reality I could run like a little child." finally she opens her eyes and takes a step forward and points at Shade "However at this moment, the only thing thats disturbing me are those eyes of yours. Maybe I should burn them~~" Cornelia firmly grabs her cane and in a swift movement, a fire like beam is shot towards Shade's face "By the way, I refuse to work with you."

Gabriel watched the whole scene with a mild passing of boredom, what Fayline picked using a women's intuition he picked up because it was screaming blatantly obvious if you were paying attention. Two mages involved in another love triangle, it seemed to be a national sport for these people. Screw quidditch it was all about who could bag the girl. It was all fun and good to be playing detective in the dark corners of the mage world but for some one like he didn't care about the purpose of the keys, he would make certain to report them to the church but overall he really just didn't care, he was only out here looking for those demons. Spying on teachers however wasn't bring him any closer to finding those demons so he thought maybe it was a time for a little game. As she squirmed in close against him he draped his arms protectively about her his left hand tracing path against the back of her neck. To her and in the dark it would seem nothing more then an odd motion unless they were well trained in runic magic, he was actually placing a rune against the back of her neck. He looked down at her an eyebrow piqued as she asked her question "Hmm? I just see two mages in love." the rune he placed against the back of her neck was a rune for desire, which would amplify that particular feeling in its victims, it was a little known and used rune because of its useless applications for battle but given his nature it was one the church had drilled into his most thoroughly.

"Shame really," Shade said, sighing as Cornelia unleashed her spell at him. He seemed to lose interest in her, and lifted his cane up. The chair-shaped shadow dissipated, and he fell through the ground, disappearing from sight. "Until we meet again then," his voice rang out. Marcel looked around, but didn't see any trace of Shade. Letting out a sigh of relief, he looked over at Cornelia. "Well, he's gone," he said, feeling a need to state the obvious. With Shade now gone, and the key obviously in his possession, there didn't seem to be any point in sticking around. He was feeling a longing for the comfort of his own room and bed. "Let's get out of here before someone comes investigating the latest murder," he said Cornelia, waiting to see if she would follow him. ------------- Fayline gave Gabriel a playful swat. "Not that," she said, stifling a laugh. "What they were talking about. She mentioned that Adrian was on to them. I think he was heading up the investigation of the keys. Do you think they're working together to get them? Alistair is an expert at summoning familiars, if that's what that thing was that we saw yesterday." She looked thoughtful, rubbing her neck slightly. She'd felt Gabriel's arms slip around as she had scrunched close, and the thought made her skin tingle. "Well, I think that's enough sleuthwork for tonight. Let's get back to our rooms." She smiled at him and moved forward in a graceful sort of sway. "Come on, or I'll leave you behind," she said teasingly, sticking her tongue out at him.

Cornelia glares to where Shade disappeared "Tch." she failed to hurt him, all she needed was a single drop of his blood and she could make a Boundary Field to specificly target him, but that'll have to wait for another time. She turns around and follows Marcel "Yeah....lets" "Oh? Seems like we werent needed..." Desire said with a bored tone "So that means I can have fun?" a curious voice came from the dark "Yes yes, you're no longer needed" Desire said in a annoyed tone and turned to a bat flying back to Rack's room. "Yey!" the voice proclaimed and leaves running towards the darkness of the ClockTower

Gabriel Caught her by the wrist before she could drift to far and pulled her close. Desire was an interesting emotion and the way he used this emotion was often as a mean of interrogation, a desire to tell the truth he could instill in a person. It was most interesting notably because it was one part mental magic, one part rune magic, and one part power of suggestion if done right there was no mage that could resist him or even want to for that matter. His magic was activated now his left hand cupped about the back of her neck pulling her incredibly close. The first tendrils were poking at her resistance but he was using his proximity plus the rune he added to her to fuzzy the on goings. His face was very close to hers the barest breath ran hot across her cheek. He brought his lips to her ear and very quietly whispered "What is it that you really want? And why is it that you run from your name?" his mental magic wasn't exerting in the command field it was exerting in a much more subtle fashion it was amplifying the suggestion coupled his desire rune to make her want to tell the truth to him. It was the power of words, and he of all people truly believed in the real power of the word.

Fayline froze as Gabriel was suddenly upon, much closer than she had ever expected. Her eyes lost focus, as all her senses were focused upon his words. What is it I want? Why is it that you run from your name?" she murmured, her head drooping forward to rest on his shoulder. She unconsciously felt a desire to spill her darkest secrets, all her desires. "I want to find him. I hide my name because of him. It drove him away from us. He thought it made him part of a legacy of greatness. He thought he should be above all other magi. I want him to answer for his actions to me." Her brother's face swam in front of her eyes, the last time she had seen him before he left that night. "You abandoned us..." she whispered before pitching forward completely, losing consciousness. END DAY.

Fayline yawned as she walked to class that morning. It was a bit disturbing to wake up in your own bed, not knowing how you got there and having a gap in your memory. But she knew she had been with Gabriel before, so she figured nothing bad could have happened. "Maybe I fell asleep and he carried me back," she thought, giggling to herself. She turned the corner and saw Marcel, who gave her a disinterested glance. "Oh there you are," he said, yawning. "Cornelia and I - well, we should probably wait to discuss that later." There were other students drifting into the room, so he thought it best not to mention anything in front of them. They walked in together to their alchemy lesson with Adrian and took their seats. Adrian came in, looking tired and disgruntled. "I guess we weren't the only ones up late last night," Fayline mused. She remembered Victoria's words and frowned. They were the prime suspects at this point, but she thought tonight should be focused on keeping an eye on Adrian.

Emily was still having her womanly trouble and it was making her abjectly miserable which was immediately apparent the second she walked into. A most dour expression filled her face and she looked by no means ready to brook any argument with anyone lest the feel like getting a very large and green fist in the face. Gabriel however seemed to be incredibly ill for some reason. He woke up that morning feeling feverish though he brushed it aside not thinking it befitted some one of his stature. As he entered the class room his brow beaded with sweat his vision swam before his he took on step forward into the class room them went face first directly into the floor.

"Gabriel!" Fayline yelled, dashing forward to check on him. Marcel gave a start, looking surprised. "What happened to him?" he wondered. He looked over toward Rin and Cornelia to see their reactions, when he noticed that Emily was missing. "What's wrong with him?" Fayline whispered, placing her hand on his forehead. Adrian gave an annoyed sigh and called for Victoria to come check him. Victoria came in, her eyes meeting Fayline's. For a moment she regarded Fayline with something like curiosity, then stooped down beside Gabriel to see what was wrong. Fayline stepped back helplesslu as Victoria nodded to herself, then motioned to Adrian to help her carry him out of the room. Fayline went after them, leaving the room abuzz with conversation. "Wonder what that was about?" Marcel said, looking over at Cornelia.
