| ~Song of the North Gate~ |
Alistair, who was gathering up his things, looked up in surprise. "Oh, of course, my boy," he said, turning and grinning. He tapped his chin thoughtfully at Rack's question. "Well, my most familiar is my Basilisk, but I've recently developed a new familiar that I haven't quite tested out. It's called Golem, Heart of the Swamp. It's excellent for close quarters combat, being nearly indestructible and able to effortlessly trap opponents within its territory. I hope to try it out soon..." The creatures, which looked like black clumps of slime with ghostly, deformed faces, sprang up and immediately shifted form to the three people in front of them. "Awesome!" Fayline cried, and even Marcel had to admit it was pretty cool. "All right, return to out rooms and await our return," she commanded. The three familiars didn't respond, but quickly filed out. Marcel shut the door quietly before slumping into an empty chair. Now it was just a matter of waiting...
