Pokemon RP Sunrise of New Kanto

Hello there! It's so very nice to meet you!
So you want to be a Pokemon trainer?
Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Oak! However, people just call me the Pokémon professor!
This world is widely inhabited by creatures known as Pokémon!
We humans live alongside Pokémon as friends. At times we play together, and at other times we work together.
For some people, Pokémon are pets. Others use them for battle and develop closer bonds with them. Myself? I conduct research so that we may learn more about Pokémon.
All right, the time has come. Your very own tale of grand adventure is about to unfold. On your journey, you will meet countless Pokémon and people. I'm sure that along the way you will discover many things, perhaps even something about yourself. Now, go on, leap into the world of Pokémon!

A Note of Welcome
Welcome to the first arc of the Pokemon RP, the Kanto region. This thread is where you will live out your own Pokemon Adventure. Collecting badges, catching Pokemon, battling other Trainers, anything you wish. We encourage you to partner up and travel around with other trainers while you move from town to town. Please we encourage you to ask any questions, or make a sheet if you haven't in our OOC Thread.

These GameMasters will keep the RP progressing and post notes in the threads. NPC characters are also under their control, but other people can request to be an NPC to keep things going. Respect these people inside the IC & OOC thread If you feel adequate and willing to help out, feel free to let another GM know.

Rules of the World

Keep things at a fair length.
Try to write more than a few lines or some 'chatting', go in depth with detail and your character whenever you can. Keep in mind things will be evaluated. (5 lines minimum.)
Character Control
Always remember your place in the world. You are no Pokemon Master, and you most certainly can't just decree yourself a winner at any given moment. Remember to keep your Pokemon's power in check.
Pokemon
Always be aware of how powerful your Pokemon is. Your Pokemon doesn't have unlimited health and power, always remember to keep your power and health in check. Please also respect the power and levels of your opponent. If your Opponent is 20 levels higher than your Pokemon, you will go down easier than he will.
No OOC Only Posts.
I can't stress this enough. This thread is meant to only be used for IC posts. If you need to ask a question or request something from the GM use the OOC thread.
NPCs.
Non-playable characters will mostly be portrayed by the game masters. Certain characters can be used by more people. Keep in mind these NPCs use colour-coded posts, so refrain from using colours in your own posts. You may request an NPC battle in the OOC thread (see link above)

Again, if you have any question about the RP do not ask in here, we have a OOC thread for that. If you do not have a RP character and have no intention of making one, and you have already been warned not to post inside this thread but for some reason you chose to ignore it, then most likely one of the Mods will step in.

Gym Leaders
As with all Pokemon games, shows, and manga, your goal is to go through the world and collect all 8 badges to get to the end game. Below is the list of Gym Leaders in order and there Pokemon. These are also GM's, and the Gym Leaders are NPC's used by the respective person.

Every Person starts off in Pallet town and move along the semi strait forward Path. If you are not 100% familiar with how the path works, I have posted Below a couple maps that should guide you move along your adventure smoothly.

Catching Pokemon will work based on the Sheet provided below. Here is a quick intro on how to use the sheet and how to catch Pokemon.
Each Pokemon listed below will have a number next to it, which is the level you will catch it at, and either a (c),(u),(r). This determines the rarity of the Pokemon.
(c) is a Common Pokemon and requires you to buy a Pokeball to catch it.
(u) means Uncommon Pokemon and requires you to buy a Greatball to catch it.
(r) means Rare Pokemon and requires you to buy a Ultraball to catch the Pokemon.
The respective balls will be for purchase in the Shop. If you see a (F) next to the rarity, that means you must fish for that Pokemon. Fishing Rods are available in the Shop.
After you know the rarity of your Pokemon, you must find out where to catch it. Below the Routes are in order numerically. Look at the Maps provided above to know if you are on the route or if you are close. We ask that you respect the traveling system and don't just skip from route to route to catch Pokemon. Important not all routes are in order numerically. Some routes will open up earlier based on location, even if there numerical value is not in order. Remember to always check both the route and map.
Once you have your Pokemon Selected and you are on the route, you MUST ask a GM (list provided above) to battle you and simulate the catching process.
To decide the Attacks of your Pokemon you just caught, look up IN A 4TH GEN POKEDEX the last 3 moves it learns at it's level, and the GM selects 1 Egg move. Please don't argue with the GM's choice, if you feel you have been wronged talk to the Head GM.

If you NPC a trainer battle or a wild pokemon encounter you are awarded 50 pkmnD regardless of the outcome. This however does not include Gym Battles. If you don't know if you are cleared to NPC, talk to the Head GM.

Events:

Special Events will happen through out the RP that the Head GM will post and make public. You are free to choose if you want to participate in them or not. However you must be in or close to the location they are happening, you can't instant teleport yourself there unless you have Fly, which will let you move back through areas YOU ALREADY HAVE BEEN.
Remember to keep a sharp eye out for these events!!!!

Trainer Tower
A place where you can see how you stack up against the strongest of the Strong. Trainer tower can be accessed at anytime, however a fair warning, the Pokemon and trainers here are of the highest caliber. Ask a GM to battle you. You must start at floor 1 and work your way to the top. *Currently Under Construction*

First Post

As the sun begins to rise over Pallet town, Romeo sits in a tree just outside and gazes out at the arrival of new trainers, all eager to begin there adventure. My beloved Pikachu sleeping in my lap, wakes up from a drop of dew falling on it's nose.
Petting him I smile "It begins now Pikachu. Look at all the new trainers down there, all of them ready to venture out into the world. Just like me and you buddy. How about we make a pact right now to crush them all with your lightening."
Smiling my Pikachu nods in agreement, the fire in it's eyes burning with the passion for battle. Jumping out tree I land, having grabbed an apple on the way down he takes a bite, the wind blowing his jacket as he looks down again.
"Here me world, The time has come for you all to feel my lightening strike down on your hearts."
With that my Pikachu lets off a Thunder shock strait upwards as we begin our hike back down from the summit of the large hill I was on towards pallet town.

Cerulean Gym Leader
The rising sun's rays struck Iori's eyelids, pulling the covers over his head he heard the alarm chirp to life. Failing to snooze the alarm in the set time, Iori was greeted with a bucket of water that was emptied on his head from the ceiling above. Glancing up to ceiling his eyes met a series of ropes, gears and an upturned bucket. Tumbling out of bed he headed to the bathroom, he'd never been a morning person and this morning was no different, lazily grabbing his tooth brush from it's receptacle he smeared an oozing stream of toothpaste on it and thrust it between his teeth. Foam dripping from the corners of his mouth, he gargled and washing his face threw on a hoodie and a pair of jeans. Descending from the messy upper living portion of the Gym he hastily grabbed a piece of toast from the kitchen and proceeded to the rec room to play a few levels of Super Mario.

Beginning in Pallet Town

Hootie was cleverly sneaking out of his neighbors, daughter's window with a hand full of panties as the sun rose in Pallet Town, "Oi, Growly! Get a look at that view!!" Growly sat wagging his tail. He was very obedient to his master, even though he knew what his master was doing could be considered illegal. Hootie began to jog into the sunrise, smiling at his success, "Yatta! Now I a few pair's of Rin-chan's panties, we can officially start our journey Growly!"

Another day. Another time the sun shined. It's rays pierced through Joey's luxurious windows.
"Good morning, Sir Joey, your limo is here. It is ready for department to Pallet Town." Announced his loyal Butler as he opens the curtains, letting the sunlight pour inside.
"Thank you, Steward. Prepare my bathroom." Said Joey as he stood up.
"Your bathroom is already prepared, Sir."
Joey stood up and walked inside his bathroom. After doing what was necessary, he left the bathroom where his Butler dressed him up.
"This is my day of becoming a trainer, Steward. I'm so happy!"
"Your father is very proud of you, Sir and so am I. You will be a great trainer. Now we need to hurry or the Professor is going to run out of Pokemons for you to choose. Your breakfast is served inside the car. Have a nice trip, Sir."
"Thank you, Stewart." Said Joey and exited his mansion, entering his limo. He started eating his fresh served breakfast and waited for the driver to get him to Pallet Town.

With the ship from Unova slowly arriving to pallet town Cero sitting at the forecastle gets his first and grasp view of how Kanto's like.
"Hm, so that's Kanto..."
His Charmander while out of its pokeball stares at him with a semi disappointed look.
"Yeah, I know it's not as exciting as you expected it to be like, but no one said we would find ancient sites with a go"
Charmander then puts up a more determined face.
"Alright the ship's reaching the shore, so get ready we're going to come across a lot of people.Maybe you'll get to have some fun."
The fire in Charmander's tail grows bigger due to its excitement, and it puts on a slight smirk on its face.
Cero gets an appricot juice out of his coat's pocket and starts drinking while gazing of the adventure that lied in front of him.

Sebastian Tarasque

Sebastian had awoken to the sounds of trainers battling amongst themselves with the pokemon they got just moments earlier. Senor beaksly lifted his head from under his wing and looked at Sebastian to see what he would do, Sebastian opened up his log book and started to read it a bit to see what routes he could take. He saw one that caught his eye "Hm, Digglet's cave, looks like it connects to Vermilion city, Senor beaksly what do you think?" Senor Beaksly just turned his head not really understanding."Well then i will take that as a yes." Sebastian said with a smile as he packed his essentials, a town map, a couple of apples and his log book. Stepping out of the small cave Sebastian with Senor Beaksly flying just above him sets out.

Giljarene looks up at the bright sky, the ocean winds breezing through her golden hairs, she could feel it, the taste of freedom had never felt so good. "Hmmmm~" With Kanto already in sight, she clenched her fists and smiles at her new future "Ah yes~ This will be quite an adventure~" she says while looking at her pokeball that contained Abra.

"No longer will my fate be in the hands of others~ Ah~ I wonder what I will find in this whim of mines~" Gil said half wondering half stating. There were a few things she would miss from her former life, the health and comfort being the obvious ones, but then again, freedom is much more valuable than such trifling things. As the ship anchors, and Gil takes her first step in to this new place "Pallet was it? Hmmmm.....I had heard it was the best place to start in the Trainer's world, But--" She looked at the town a bit disappointed "---It's rather simple is it......" sighing, clearly expecting much more from the town the famous Professor Oak worked in.

"Oh well at least since I'm here, I mite as well meet this famous man." she declared with a smile as she walked towards Professor Oak's Laboratory.

Just outside of Pallet town:

The sun has finally risen over the horizon and everything is bathed in golden light. A girl comes running out of the farm house with a searching look on her face. "C'mon Eevee, we gonna be late!!" Ray calls out, looking around. Her eyes sparkle with excitement. Finally she spots Eevee outside, playing with a Beautifly. She picks her up and twirls her around, feeling really hyper. Finally they end up in the grass and Ray looks Eevee straight in the eyes. "This is a big day. It's finally gonna start." she says in a happy voice, a smile spreading across her face. "Are you ready to go?" When she hears the approving sound, Ray can't help but laugh. She jumps up and heads back to the house, where she left her backpack. "All right then, let's go" She picks the backpack up and takes out the Pokeball. When she is just about to recall Eevee, she sees the wiggling tail and the sparkling eyes of her best friend and laughs. "Oh, ok, you win. You stay out for a bit longer, but don't run off, okay?" Whistling, she walks along the small road that leads through Pallet Town and towards her great adventure.

Noah chuckled at the boy before him getting all into a conversation with a pokemon, slightly intrigued by the pokemon's color. "Hey, brat, that's quite the charmander you've got there." Noah declared, as he walked over towards him. The wind picked up and he looked over towards the coast. "At this pace, we won't arrive for a bit, what do ya say you and I battle? I'd like to test you out, since I can't allow trash representing the Unova region in kanto, it'll disgrace the name." Without even touching the pokeball at his waste, a red light flashed and his growlithe emerged on his shoulder barking at the charmander. "Don't worry about the time, it'll be over quick."

When battling an NPC, godmodding and making your character all-powerful is simply forbidden. Example of a poor battle: Player 1 order Piplup to use Water Gun on enemy Pikachu. Miraculously, Pikachu fainted from the one attack despite it being not very effective! Example of a good battle: Player 1 order Piplup to use Water Gun on enemy Pikachu. Unfortunately, enemy Pikachu seemed untouched and fought back with a small bolt of lightning, knocking the Piplup down. GMs are allowed to control the outcome of a battle, but only with reasonable cause. And all type effectiveness must be recognized as well, failure to do so will result in a warning. For NPC Battles assume the Trainer has as many badges as you do for leveling and Pokemon levels. Up to GM's to create a fair and challenging battle based on your levels. Evolving/Leveling: Spoiler Evolving Spoiler All Pokemon will evolve by there natural levels. We leave that your responsibility as the trainer to look up and know when your Pokemon evolves. If your Pokemon evolves by a method that is not leveling you will do one of the following ... Trade - There will be a special "Trade" Item you buy that will count as your Pokemon evolving. This also applies to item trade evolution. Stones - Evolutionary Stones will be up for Purchase in the Shop. Happiness - Ask a GM who will decide based on your merit and how long you've had your Pokemon. Leveling Spoiler winner gains levels like this. opponents level x2 then divided by your own level so if a lvl 5 beat a level 10, it would gain 4 lvls. if a level 10 beat a lvl 10, it would gain 2, and the lvl 20 would gain 1. to take into consideration both pokemons levels when leveling, not just one. ofc with uneven numbers you'd have to round. losers will receive half this. Money Spoiler The Money Reward system will work like this. Winner of a battle will get 100 PkmnD Pokemon Dollars for each badge the losing trainer has, if the trainer has none winner receives 100 pkmnD. Loser will receive 50 pkmnD. Gym Battles will give you 200 PkmnD times whatever gym they are sequentially (see list above). You can find the sheets of your opponent in the OOC Thread. If you NPC a trainer battle or a wild pokemon encounter you are awarded 50 pkmnD regardless of the outcome. This however does not include Gym Battles. If you don't know if you are cleared to NPC, talk to the Head GM. Events: Special Events will happen through out the RP that the Head GM will post and make public. You are free to choose if you want to participate in them or not. My beloved Pikachu sleeping in my lap, wakes up from a drop of dew falling on it's nose. Petting him I smile "It begins now Pikachu. Look at all the new trainers down there, all of them ready to venture out into the world. Just like me and you buddy. How about we make a pact right now to crush them all with your lightening." Smiling my Pikachu nods in agreement, the fire in it's eyes burning with the passion for battle. Jumping out tree I land, having grabbed an apple on the way down he takes a bite, the wind blowing his jacket as he looks down again. "Here me world, The time has come for you all to feel my lightening strike down on your hearts." With that my Pikachu lets off a Thunder shock strait upwards as we begin our hike back down from the summit of the large hill I was on towards pallet town. __________________

Failing to snooze the alarm in the set time, Iori was greeted with a bucket of water that was emptied on his head from the ceiling above. Glancing up to ceiling his eyes met a series of ropes, gears and an upturned bucket. Tumbling out of bed he headed to the bathroom, he'd never been a morning person and this morning was no different, lazily grabbing his tooth brush from it's receptacle he smeared an oozing stream of toothpaste on it and thrust it between his teeth. Foam dripping from the corners of his mouth, he gargled and washing his face threw on a hoodie and a pair of jeans. "Hm, so that's Kanto..." His Charmander while out of its pokeball stares at him with a semi disappointed look. "Yeah, I know it's not as exciting as you expected it to be like, but no one said we would find ancient sites with a go" Charmander then puts up a more determined face. There were a few things she would miss from her former life, the health and comfort being the obvious ones, but then again, freedom is much more valuable than such trifling things. A girl comes running out of the farm house with a searching look on her face. "C'mon Eevee, we gonna be late!!" Ray calls out, looking around. Her eyes sparkle with excitement. Finally she spots Eevee outside, playing with a Beautifly. She picks her up and twirls her around, feeling really hyper. Finally they end up in the grass and Ray looks Eevee straight in the eyes. "This is a big day. It's finally gonna start." she says in a happy voice, a smile spreading across her face. "Are you ready to go?" When she hears the approving sound, Ray can't help but laugh. She jumps up and heads back to the house, where she left her backpack. "All right then, let's go" She picks the backpack up and takes out the Pokeball. When she is just about to recall Eevee, she sees the wiggling tail and the sparkling eyes of her best friend and laughs. "Oh, ok, you win. You stay out for a bit longer, but don't run off, okay?"
