After a brief white light, Dracowolf appeared in the Meadowlands. She looked down at her hands and body, thinking, "It will take a bit of time to get used to having this new body. This virtual MMO is so surreal, unlike any other I've played." Gathering her thoughts, she looked around, and other members were popping in. The players were quite sparse, as the Meadowlands was vast, and, surprisingly, a character popped up right next to her. She took a small step back, a little afraid of this person. Looking this guy up and down, she did have the right to be somewhat afraid. He appeared to be well above her level, having some fancy gear. Managing a weak smile, she was able to start up a conversation with him. "Um...hi", came out of her mouth coyly. He just looked at her, grunted and walked off. Looking down in embarrassment, she mumbled to herself, "And there goes trying to make a friend that could power level me easily." Turning her head to her left, she saw some new people. "Maybe I should play this game the right way...", Dracowolf contemplated, "It would be a change from my latest experience. Who knows? It could be worth it." Dracowolf started walking over to those new people, but suddenly stopped. She realized she didn't know the user interface for casting spells yet, so she decided it was a good idea to test it out. Waving her hand around and mumbling things, she finally managed to bring up the user control system, and from there, Dracowolf learned how to actually use her spells. It was quite different from what she was used to, but she'd soon get familiar with it. Experimenting with the spells she had chosen, she picked her favorite one, giggling, "I've prepared exploding runes today." A rune came forth from the tip of her finger, and suddenly exploded, much to her surprise. Dracowolf flew back a few feet, landing on her butt. Getting up and rubbing her backside, "Ow...I need to be more careful with those."

A blonde woman stood on the edge of a cliff, the calming presence of a meadow behind her and the exciting smell of the sea before her. "Sometimes it seems like this fake world is a better place than our own," she said softly. "Careful with that kind of talk, Jeanne," said a cultured, male voice from behind her. "We almost got sued before because people stopped wanting to live in the real world." She turned to see a distinguished man in a cloak, holding his familiar parchment and quill and a smile on his bearded face. "Shakespeare, you made it," she said, grinning. "I was beginning to wonder what kept you." He gave a tired sigh and ran his free-hand through his brown hair. "Another meeting for the designers. The producers want us to add two more regions to the game to excite in new players," he said. "I personally think we don't need it." Jeanne nodded thoughtfully, looking down to one of the game's spawning points below them. "We're getting a new batch of applicants today; a lot from the looks of it," she said. Shakespeare shook his head as he watched some users spawn in the area, one being a girl who knocked herself silly with a bad rune spell. "Well then, we should probably get down to business," he said, unrolling the parchment. "After all, who knows how much time we'll have before we're overrun by new users. You know, I'll never get used to how unconventional using the gaming system is to meet from across countries." Jeanne, the head moderator of the gaming world, was stationed in Paris, France, while her counterpart and head game designer, Shakespeare, was stationed at headquarters in London, England. Rather than meet through conferences across televisions, they'd decided to meet inside the game world to discuss what changes needed to be made and how things were progressing. It made more sense to do it where they could actually see what needed to be done firsthand, rather than just discuss it passively.

He spawned in the South City Town Center. He was surprised at how real everything seemed and felt. It was fairly busy even though the game was still pretty new. Other characters were trading items with each other or looking for party members to do some quests. Before he would do anything like that he needed to get used to this game first. He was an Assassin so learning how to use Presence Concealment would be important. He had read the manual that came with the game but he wanted to try it out. He thought he'd have some fun using it. After activating it he tripped other players and quickly alked away, blending with the other players before they could find who did it. After doing this a few times he got fairly used to the system. He wandered around looking for something to do to start.

Opening her eyes to the Meadowlands, she felt irritated with her vision. Realizing it was her hair she sighed. Next time something with longer hair would do just fine. Stretching her arms out she turned in circles until she was so dizzy, she had to lay down. Looking up in the sky, she watched the clouds, inhaling deeply. The air actually smelled like fresh meadow and a soft breeze was curling the grass, it brought a slight sent of salt water. Amazing she thought, it feels so real Around her other players started appearing. "Now how does this work" she asked herself and sat up Fumbling around with the user dial attached to her wrist. Shooting a taming beacons into the grass, she looked, startled. "I wonder how this works in action" she said to herself and stood up, activating her tracking skill to see if any beasts were nearby. Since there were none, she started walking around, seeing if she wanted to talk to any other players.

Odin spawned inside the town center and took a moment to adjust to his surroundings. The sounds of people trading this and selling that filled his ears, and the smell of kebabs rose from a stand on the corner. "They've really improved the quality since the beta. I'm impressed." The weight of the sword and shield hanging over his shoulder made them feel completely real. He could even feel the breeze that blew through the square brush across his face. "I'm definitely glad that I burned the money on this now." He started to walk through town, looking for players he might know from the closed beta, but it didn't seem like any of them were present. "Guess I'll have to find some new party members..." With a shrug, Odin made his way through town and towards the Meadowlands, where most new players found themselves upon first login.

Appearing in the Northern Moors, a gallant and elegant appearance! Shiny, flashing, an almighty Number (Level) one appears! Stoic, beautiful! Defined by all who see her as }{aex \/aL|<y|2!E, they obviously shorten it to Hax Valkyrie or just Valkyrie! Her mental Monologue complete, Valkyrie sighed. Sure she looked grand, but she was starting out as a complete n00b! Nub, Newb, Nooblet, gaah! All those words she loved to use but hated being the target of. She hated the vulnerability of feeling like a new-born chick when she joined new MMORPGS. It was even worse when it was something like this. This was the first time Valkyrie's player had played a Virtual Reality game. She usually stuck to ones on the screen, where things were kept impersonal and she could confused the pubs with her leet speak. But here... Ugh! And then a worse thought came to mind. She'd have to be playing with her BROTHER. He was probably going to suck at these things. She could practically imagine him falling onto the dirt when he first arrived. Uwah, babysitting. Still, maybe there was bonus exp for parties or something. She hadn't really read about it though so maybe not... What? Of course she read up on the game before joining it. It was an impromptu gift from parents, but still. A few hours looking up how to play, the best places to farm, etc etc... Well, maybe she could use her brother as a distraction. |

When the light began to recede, 'Rex Silverblade' found himself surrounded by the rolling hills of the Northern Moor. He blinked a couple of times to focus his sight, his head moving to take in the view. A grin broke out on the boy's face as he marveled at the realism. Rex's player had played other Virtual Reality games before, but this one exceeded those completely! Perhaps mom and dad had stumbled upon a good idea after all... Rex turned to the person beside him, his grin fading. Why, oh why, did he have to play with her? Rex knew she disliked the idea just as much as he did, but they both figured they had to at least attempt to try it. Maybe they could walk around a bit, do some beginner stuff, then Rex could ditch his boring sister in some dangerous cave. They may have had to play together, but who said they had to interact in-game? They were both logged-in now, so Rex walked up to her. "Wow, nice name, Miss Leet." He rolled his eyes. She called him immature? "I'm sure everyone is impressed by you. They won't even be able to pronounce your stupid name." |

L had rushed home today to get into the game. It had came a few days ago but she had to wait before she could try it. After longing in and listen to the intro, L was ready. Picking out the Meadow to start with, she was ready. All those mean people that picked on her would be here seeing how they got a free copy. Money well spent she thought. How dare they pick on her, she will make them all her follows and be this game princess. It was going to be hard as she never played these games before but hey how hard could it be? The first thing she noticed was how real this felt, like real real. The air was warm, the grass even blow as the wind did. But all that was nice but what she really liked was herself. Not that little girl she was at home, no here she was fooking hot. She no longer looked like a nine and a half year old that got picked on and made fun of, no she was everything she wish to be. But enough with all that she though, she wanted to look around. L begins to walk looking at everything, but wonder what she could do. She had picked out all her stuff before plugging in and she looked like she wanted to, but how could she use all of that. She picks through her pockets, tapped her foot, all kinds of things she thought would do something in game but for her they didn’t. She lloks around and see a few other people but doesn’t want to ask them how to play, she learned it not wise to be a “noob” to these people. Getting mad at the fact she could not even find her own stuff, L face goes red, she crosses her arms and with showing angry, plops down on the ground. “Stupid game not letting me do stuff. I read the stupid book and everything, well with daddy’s help with the bigger techno words. I should be able to do something!” L yells huffing and puffing. Then she remembered she needed to act her age, not her real age, but this older age.L gets up, dust herself off and starts trying to remember what to do. |

"Not idiots like you, at least. Which is a good thing, since I only like talking with people who have an IQ that doesn't put them in the Mentally Impaired strata." At this point, she would normally flip her hair, but she realized it was shorter than in real life so it was an inept attempt. Gah, where were the emotes where she just had to type /beauty. Everything should just be controlled by the fingers... "Besides, yours looks like some pub came up with it to make himself sound cool. Still, at least you know your way around character design. " She shrugs nonchalantly. "Not like that helps make up for the other incompetancies that make of the polluted sea of your self." Valkyrie takes this point to look out across the Northern Moor. She picked this place because, unlike the field or town, it varied in elevation. Which meant she could scout out an improptu map without having to buy one from the market. (Current Troll Level: 12) |
