| Born of the Apathy of Man |
And so Edana smiled, anticipation building. Unfortunately, her 'sexual' fascination with battle was deemed inappropriate in this society, and so she had to hide her full feelings for now. It was not hard to glimpse the look her King gave her, and the meaning was all too clear; A warning, and an order. To watch his daughter, since it was her damn idea. "Lady Victoria, shall we go play with these little boys for a bit?" Edana grinned wide, a cheshire like smile she'd found worked well with children, before entering the arena, hips swaying like a pendulum. She's heard of a few here, from women of the Perioeci caste. On her team was Papaya, a narcassistic being who could rival even the hero of legend himself in all ways. It was only her own will keeping her from cleaving his head off here and now in hopes of finding the ultimate pleasure. For wouldn't the ultimate man's death provide just that? Then of course, on the other side, there was Derek. It was such a wonderful day for her to get such a chance as this, many women, Helot, Pelioeci and Spartiate alike, have asked Edana to end him. And today, she would. "Papaya, I'm taking on Sparky over there. Make sure you don't get yourself killed... It'd be a waste for me not to do it." Edana stared seductively at the man for but a brief moment, just enough time for her tongue to slide along the bottom of her lips, then she turned and faced the center of the arena. "Oi! Pervert! Ever gotten your ass handed to you by a girl?" A cheshire grin split her face yet again as she drew the black-hued blade from her homeland and dropped into a middle stance, feet shoulder width apart with her blade tip just barely above the ground beside her rear foot. "Because there's a first time for everything." |

The battle between the warriors Rexxar and Simeon continued just as furiously as it always had between the two, even before they had received their god weapons. In some sense they saw each other as rivals and never missed the chance to against each other in one form of challenge or another, though most of the time it was Simeon who ended up coming out the victor. Even among the elite men that served her father, Simeon could be considered an elite of the elite. But just as Simeon was about to deliver the winning blow, and as Victoria was hoping for a response from her father, something quite unexpected and shocking happened. Some warrior unknown to Victoria, maybe he was new or just plainly unimportant, jumped into the arena like a fool out right interfering with The battle of the two honorable warriors and even attempting to attack Misha, Rexxars bear whom Victoria had come to treat as her pet time to time whenever the bear was around. Simeon effortlessly protected the bear thankfully but the foolishly warrior would not be so lucky as the bear. His actions were almost on the same line as desertion, he had stripped himself of any standing he once might have held and even worse he had angered Demos, her father was the last man you ever wanted to anger. Of course it wasn't only her father that was pissed Victoria herself was boiling with rage at the events and she could even hear if not out right feel the tension from the warriors behind her. It was not only Demos's warrior side that felt outrage it was also the side of him that was a King, and he could not would not accept this insolence. Leaving his thrown and moving out into the Arena, he spoke to the warrior telling him how he should say his prays and that he should at least die with even a fraction of dignity, and with one lightning quick swing of his sword the warriors head came clean off. Demos turned, with the severed head in his hand, and spoke to the people in the stands, and to his men, and with the Kings words of Glory and Conquest a loud uproar of cheers and weapons banging agasint each other or on the ground flooded the arena, Victoria cheered on as well she could feel the Spartan pride radiating from her father as she guessed the warriors could as well as they cheered on the King the loudest. With the speech and noise flooding the arena Victoria almost forgot about her desire to join in this competition, but even so the words her father spoke came to a surprise to her, even if she was secretly hoping for them. He even announced it for all the arena to hear, the next set of battles would be a three vs three with the conditions decided by the participants and the first person he named to take part in this battle was Victoria herself. Excitement filled Victoria but she would not let it show, she was a Spartan after all she needed to keep herself from acting a fool, though it was hard especially to kept the seemingly titan powered smile down, she hide it best she could though. She still felt someone shocked however, was it because they were about to go to war that her father had given in, she had wrestled with many of the soldiers before and even competed agasint them in many other events but as for a true battle of steel not once had Demos allowed her to compete, even if she did get sparring lessons time to time. Either way an eager child is an eager child and they don't tend to think deeply about things for to long before they start taking action. Other than Victoria 5 other people had been named. Edana, the woman that had came down from the roof and talked her Victoria and her father, and Papaya a man that, from spread of gossip, Victoira and quite a few other girls found quite creepy would be on her team. The other team would consist of Derek Spark a man that she has overheard many women speak quite badly about, Epideksios whom Victoria really never spent much time around mainly because of his insistent horrible singing, and the last warrior Gen Kuro was another one she really didn't know, its not like she knew all the warriors after all. As Demos returned to his thrown, looking at his daughter, but more intently at Edana before he sat, Victoria Stood, and slide the strap of the sheath of her sword over her shoulder. Victoria stood firmly she would enter the arena cool headed and ready for combat like any true Spartan should. Taking one last look at her father as she then turned to face the arena and move forward she her Edana approach and speak to her from behind, commenting on how they would "play with these little boys". As Edana moved onward into the arena Victoria was not to far behind, but unlike Edana who had walked right up to the other person in their group and then openly challenged Derek on the other side, Victoria was suddenly halted. Though not by her father or any warrior, Misha the battle hardened bear which struck fear into the hearts of those that became its enemy had charged up to Victoira and started to furiously lick her in the face. Rexxar wasn't really found of it, but with the time she spent with the bear she had sorta tamed it, though it defiantly didn't act like this around others. Scratching the bear behind the ears and telling her to go back to her master, Victoria now walked up to Edana and Papaya and faced towards the opposing team. Edana had already made her challenge towards Derek, and Victoria could see almost an aura of pure blood lust coming off of Edana, did those two have some bad blood between them? she didn't know. Looking a the other two warriors on the other team, there was Epideksios and that other warrior Gen something that she was not to familiar with. With the fact that even subconsciously children always felt more comfortable with people they knew, Victoria was a little reluctant in her decision. Drawing her sword, Victoria pointed it straight at Epideksios, and with a voice for the stadium to hear Victoria said, "I shall take on the singing fool". Some laughter could be heard place to place around the arena for Epideksios was sorta famous for his horrible singing. Victoria was brimming with confidence and her expression was highly determined if not somewhat sadistic. Last edited by SaA; 07-29-2012 at 06:49 AM. |

| Athens It kept raining down furiously, making those who vacated from Gigantus attack hesitant about coming back. The games are over. Over the distance, on top of a tall golden building that lost its luminosity by the cloudy sky, stood Themistoklis, the general of Athens. "Fools." He muttered but his voice was covered by the sound of the water dripping on his woolen hood, making it unhearable even for himself. The golden haired man was distracted by the sound of footsteps in the distance. The footsteps became louder than the thunders and soon, a soldier emerged from the stairs behind him. "General Themistoklis! I'm here to rep-" "I know. I witnessed it all." Immediately replied he, interrupting the common soldier from finishing his words. The soldier was momentarily shocked. He couldn't get a word out of his mouth. Snapping back to his senses, the soldier followed with another question. "W-why didn't you do anything then, Sir? Why would you let something like that happen? Our town would be destroyed!" The general's expression did not change. His face still emotionless. He closed his eyes and breathed in. "I wanted to see who were the strong ones." That reply angered the soldier. He knew he was a low rank soldier and his rights were minimal. But he couldn't hold himself. "Is this the general who I should devote my life for? Is this the man who I am supposed to die for? Is this the one I should trust and believe in? Is this man a general?" All these thoughts must have passed through the soldier's mind. He couldn't handle this no longer. The soldier rushed to the general's side and grabbed him by his shoulder, pulling him behind. His other hand, form a fist. After a brief hesitant moment, the soldier brought the fist against the general's face. The impact send the golden haired man flying off the building and into the ground. The soldier collapsed to his knees. He was trembling. "YOU BASTARD! YOU WERE THE REASON I JOINED THE ARMY! HOW DARE YOU LET ATHENS BECOME LIKE THIS?" Tears escaped the soldiers eyes as the clouds kept thundering in the background. Suddenly, lightning struck repeatedly the ground in front of the soldier. In a split second, Themistoklis appeared floating in the air. His body radiated with electricity "How dare you punch me?" The general thrust his hand against the soldier, making him scream in pain while his body began radiating electricity too. After a minute, the soldier exploded into nothing as the general stepped back on the rooftop and walked away, wiping the small stream of blood off his face. Tavern A golden building, like the rest, with its entrance being decorated by a golden sculpture of Dionysus. It's ironic, since this building was once the home of Dionysus, the god of wine. Menos, the owner of the tavern, thought it would be funny. If the god of wine knew... The tavern's inside followed the outside's decoration. Full of Dionysus sculptures and grapes hanging on the ceiling. Occasionally, a grape or two would fall of and land into one of the wine cups. The drinkers didn't mind it though. It just gave the wine some extra flavor. This time, the tavern was full, except for one small table in the corner. It was reasonable. Everybody seek haven in the tavern for some wine to warm their stomach while the cold rain pours outside. Most of the people were ranked officers within the army. They were not recognizable in their ordinary clothes, but still, the owner was able to see right through them. They were regulars after all. Menos and his girls worked vigorously to satisfy the drinkers' wine needs. Look at those fools, drinking to no end the day before their grand battle. |

| The Demonic | "well, you all seem like you haven't lost your marbles like the rest of the city, and as i said before, My name is Gamma, Gamma Bestia, im an inventor. Maybe we can all meet up later and try and figure out where those gods ran off to?" He said to them after they all finished talking. He then flew down near the tavern and set the three down on their feet. "well, i'll be heading off to the temple for now, if you ever need me, just come over to my lab" He said with a wide Grin as he flew off. A few moments later, he landed at the entrance to the temple, still with just his wings out, he actually forgot to retract them. He walked up to the doors and pushed them open. He would ask whoever is inside if they had gotten any new from the gods

It was clear they weren't here to pray. Just to get out of the rain. Well... She still had to take care of them. Aurora greeted them then left to get them something to dry off with. Gamma entered when she was fussing with a kid's hair. Greeting the new person, she thought for a moment before answering. "No definitive clues, but people are becoming more interested. If something happens to furthur this incident, there should be those who wish to correct it." A calming voice, unsure of the present, but certain of the future.

As Therios walks out of the temple he smells a familiar scent. Just as he tries to remember where it's from he nearly bumps into a girl coming into the temple. He then looked at her and immediately recognized her. Selene. For an instant his eyes widened with surprise. He hadn't expected to see her here. Therios quickly regained his composure and returned the nod. He quickly heads off. Not feeling like going to the games right away he walks around the city for a while. As he walked he lost track of time and before he knew it the streets were flooding with Athenians running away from the games. Seeing a man amongst the crowd Therios quickly grabbed the man's arm and pulled him aside. Therios rapidly fired questions at him and the man hurried to respond so he could continue running. Therios then turned into a bird and flew over the crowd and the buildings to the stadium. Once there he saw that Gigantes had been dealt with and lay on the ground bleeding badly and that Selene was there. Eager to get back home he flew to an abandoned street and turned back to a centaur. He started to make his way home and seeing that the streets were abandoned he increased his pace to a canter. As he turns a corner he suddenly sees someone walking. He's too late to avoid her and bumps into her. "Are you alright?" He asks the girl worried she might be hurt. At least he thinks it's a girl. From where he's standing he can't see into the hood of the cloak. Due to this he also doesn't notice the girl's draconic features. Last edited by AnimeFan Nl; 07-29-2012 at 03:36 PM. |

Papaya shook Epideskios hand when it was offered. He might have thought he was better than everyone else, but that didn't mean he was impolite to them. They were his brothers in arms after all. It wasn't short after that his two teammates arrived to join in the fight. Almost immediately, and to Papaya's surprise, the two instantly pointed out an enemy from the opposite side to battle against one on one. The bloodlust that was emenating from Edana was palpable. Papaya did not know much about her, but this was a red flag for him. Edana was a little too bloodthirsty, especially given the fact they were fighting against fellow Spartans. His decision was to stay away from her; Papaya had met some bloodthirsty enemies in the past, they would attack anything and everything that got in their way. Victoria, while sounding a bit sadistic, didn't see to have the blood lust that Edana did, so she didn't pose much of a threat to him. The choices by his two allies left Papaya with Gen Kuro as his enemy. Another warrior he was unfamiliar with, but he would still lose to Papaya. Holding his shield up in a defensive position and tightly gripping his sword, he called out to Gen. "Come, Gen. Let's put on a grand fight for all to see!" Papaya made a beckoning motion with his shield and stood his ground, hoping that Gen would attack first. Papaya would easily counter the attack and end the battle quickly. A show of his greatness that would make all the audience idolize him.

Anime-san Arcantas was lucky, most didn't see her, heck only little few, not even a dozen saw her, so that was a good thing. Still she had to leave as fast as she could, crap, her claw got a bit of blood in it. Change of plans, she wont go to the tavern, instead she'll just head home. Take a hot boiling bath while she's at it. *bump* She falls to the ground, didn't hurt, but she still feel, and its always an uncomfortable feeling. She looks up to look at who bumped into her. Wow, he was tall and big. His lower part was horse and only from his waist up was he human. What were their name? Centaurs! "Are you alright?" He asked, his voice seemed a bit worried, which from what she heard from the stories, was uncharacteristic from the centaurs. Then again, so were the dragons compared to the stories. "I-I'm fine." she answered, it didn't seem like the man had noticed her features yet, but the female voice should at least tell her gender. Raising herself up without asking for help as to prevent to show her bloody claw, she turns at the man "Excuse me, are you a real centaur?"

Derek looked towards Edana and give a big smirk. "I'll take her. Make sure you guys don't die. I'll end this quickly." He said responding to Gen's question. As he walked up to Edana he became irritated at when she called him a pervert. "I do not like being called a pervert, I'm just a guy who's obsessed to women, and it's a shame such a fine woman like you will have to fall here." He continued forward while putting his hands in his pocket, ignoring every other woman except the one in front of him, and for the first time in a battle against a woman, he's not looking or thinking perverted. He just merely looks satisfied he gets to fight such a strong opponent.

Then she asked him a surprising question. Most people just assumed he was a centaur, a thought he had never tried to correct and the rest didn't dare to ask. "Hmmm..." He had to think on how to answer that. Technically right now he was a centaur and yet he was not a centaur. "Right now I am one but I am not a real centaur. I mean I wasn't born as one. I was born as a human though I stopped being that a long time ago, I can't even remember exactly how long ago. If you were to ask me what I am I wouldn't really know how to answer so for now "centaur" will do." Therios answered truthfully. He doubted she'd truly understand everything he said but to make her fully understand he'd have to tell her about his past and his ability and only a few knew of his ability and no one knew his past. Therios could've lied but he wanted to answer such an honest question with an honest answer for few people dared ask such things so directly. Now that he thought about it he had forgotten to introduce himself after being faced with her question. "Sorry for the late introduction. You can call me Therios." He said with a bow. "And what may I call you?" He asked with a smile. | |
