Hmm... these poems are quite different from one another; it's hard to choose. They go through a whole range of emotions. Some rhyme, some don't. Some are about moms who are gone, some are about moms still in the speaker's life. I like the approach of #1 to the topic of Mother. It has nice personification (smile/rainbow; crimson eyes/sunset; rage/storm). I found it interesting that Mother Nature could be just as disappointing a maternal figure as a human mom might be. The poem starts sad (fear/doubt/lost/tears), builds up a (false) hopeful feeling in the next 2 verses, then everything falls apart. This was sad but well done. Gets my vote ^^ A few other comments: Spoiler Great work, "arigato minna"! |
