Trust me, It's worth watching the last eps. I did the same thing and waited. Honestly when I finished it, I didn't know what to do. I had no interest in starting another or reading or even watching American TV. It was so good that when I finished I didn't know what to do.

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

Yeah. I might give those last 2 eps a chance
And as I usually dont watch "normal" tv I cant compare those two. Ofc if there were any nice Asian shows on, id reconsider.

I don't really watch American TV anymore unless its the news, weather or sports. I pretty much watch Asian dramas and post in the forums.

Same here, I hate American TV. The only good show is 1000 Ways to Die (only because people are so stupid) and Family Feud.

Just finished.

My thoughts...

The beginning:
I enjoyed this. He was so dorky it was painful... but so endearing. Being as she was a good person who was really just lonely at heart, their romance was very sweet and simple.

The middle:
I honestly enjoyed this a lot. His transformation made sense to me. To have such an innocent who had been sheltered all his life to have his heart broken like that... what a dose of reality to swallow. Of course he'd be jaded.
But there was so much of the same Da Lung in him. Yes, he was a brat that was trying to win her with money... but it was so childlike and innocent the way he clung onto the same approach over and over "throw money, flowers, diamonds... why isn't it working????!!!"
Perhaps he should have trusted her more... but he was someone who'd never really been betrayed before, so when he thought he was being deeply betrayed by the person he loved most, he lashed out like a child might. And despite that he couldn't stop his love for her from resurfacing.

He was dishonest with her but as time went on it was to protect her rather than to hurt her.

He began to grow up and was willing to sacrifice his happiness for hers.

The ending:
For how much loved the first 85% of the drama, I was disappointed in the last section. (about to get very spoilery here...)

I disliked the amnesia plot; not because it was contrived (who doesn't love cliche? I do!) but because they didn't do with it what I'd hoped.

They had him totally revert to his previous self, not fall in love with her again, then lie to her some more when he remembered, and in the end, still stay that same reverted self.

If I could have had it my way:
I was so hoping that the scene he had while unconscious with old!him and new!him, where new!him was "banished" would be leading up to something more meaningful.
I was hoping in her quest to find him again and then to jog his memories, it wouldn't just be Da Lung that she was remembering. I was hoping she'd remember his confidence when they were dancing at his party. That she'd remember his innocent bubble blowing. Honestly I was hoping she'd remember the hotel room scene too. And his earnestness when he thought he'd lost her in the car crash. I was hoping that He Yan Feng would tell her about Xue Hai's maturity and selflessness when he let her go and gave his blessing.

I wish that new girl wasn't there at all. But that's a given.
I was hoping they were going to go the road that the reason why he couldn't remember is because he wasn't just Da Lung anymore. He was also Xue Hai, and he needed that part of himself, but it was hiding because he thought he wasn't good enough for Chen Bao Zhu.
I was hoping, that even without his memories, parts of Ah Hai would seep back in... his levity and confidence, and new-found maturity... and it would be when Chen Bao Zhu realized that she didn't just love the old Da Lung, but all of him, that his memories would come back. (I expected a parallel unconscious scene with Ah Hai returning, perhaps after another head trauma).

Instead they had him start to fall for another girl, and until the very end, act very frightened of Chen Bao Zhu and shirk from things that I don't think Da Lung from the beginning of the drama would have. They totally regressed his character.
And then they STILL had him lying to her, even if it was supposedly for her own good. So if they were going to do that anyway, I don't know why they couldn't have at least made him handsome again.

I feel like his character took several steps backwards and it did make me unhappy.
But I'll admit I did enjoy the toilet selling scenes a lot and the ending scene was cute.

And I don't think I'd get this worked up over and type out a completely alternate ending for a drama I wasn't very invested in. This one hooked me good!

Hey, guys I'm new and I've just finished watching Hi, My sweetheart and absolutely loved it. Like someone said, after watching it I'm not sure what to do. Because that drama is just too good. Love this one and Autumn Concerto. Overall, I agree that the end wasn't that good but its okay. At least they have a happily ever after ;D

Also, is there any fans out there and can help me make a college with pictures with both of them? Kind of hard for me to find nice photos out there. Thanks!

Agreed. Ending could be better with him maintaining his modern look but going back to his innocent self (but not too innocent!). A kind of hybrid is needed. A man is most desirable when there is a blend of maturity, complexity and innocence. Most successful lead males possess such character- eg: one minute the stone-faced ruthless CEO who makes everyone shudder and kowtow to him and another minute jumping around and throwing tantrums when no one is watching! LOL Don't we all loooove such characters the most??!!

I finished watching this drama in 2010 and i still believe it's one of the best T-drama i've seen so far, the story was good, funny and loved the romance, this is definitely a must watch!
