Dear Taiwanese dramas - why? WHY? Why do you ALWAYS do this to me?

Why do you build me up only to plummet me into the depths of hell with your endings? I pulled an all nighter to watch DWL. I am not new to Jerry Yan but I maybe a passable fangirl now. (My measuring stick is, can he act without the hair; still have the sex appeal? It's not looking good.)

Anyway, enjoyed it until around, I'd say, episode 13.Then it floundered for me.

-1 for the DIVE at the end
-1 for non tied off story lines
-1 for bad sub plots (Dad, bomb, etc)
-1 for lack of chemistry (barely flame worthy - yeah, sue me! LOL)
-1 for the misuse of GOOD child actors
-1 for making the EX GF one gun short of murderous/pathetic (an actress who is acting while she is acting as an actress? what?)


+1 for cinematography
+1 for overall acting by ensemble cast
+1 for handsome cast
+1 for costumes (yes, I was paying THAT close of attention)

Overall score: 8.0: I'd recommend it for its cuteness, to JY fangirls, plus I would watch it again if I had nothing else to watch.

I loved it.

Yes, I confess: I'm a die hard Jerry Yan fan (the hair is not an issue, I like him even with a towel on his head). Guess loving an actor and being distracted every now and then by his sexy self makes a viewer a tad little biased...
But there have been in my experience examples of actor or actresses I adore being ruined by a lousy drama, therefore I claim some remnants of objectivity about this one.

Also, it made me appreciate Ella Chen. She has a special quality which is simply endearing. She grows on you, until you wish you could hug her, when at the beginning I thought "what's with this girl? She's weird..." So, more power to the actress.

The villains in this drama are, indeed, villanous. The only disappointing thing about it is that that idiot Ke Zhong only got one punch, where I was rooting for someone shaking him out like a doormat.
Hui Fan had her reward in perfect poetic justice.

Yes, the ending is rushed and a bit disappointing. They chose to keep the light/funny mood, while I wouldn't have mind seeing a little more of their life together without baby on platform 1.

That's so true)) I agree absolutely with this:
I liked the plot, liked the supporting cast - children were great and this adorable boy I absolutely loved since Autumn's concerto; costumes were good; speaking about handsome cast - tastes differ));
I guess I like appearance of Jerry Yang but his acting is not that good; Ella Chen - to say true, when I saw her at first I had a thought maybe I shouldn't watch this drama - she was okay but you can see through her acting and she's not natural at all so I don't like her skills; the girl which played ex-girlfriend really sucked - I really wanted to punch her and say "go to acting school - go, go, go!!!!" - I don't remember seeing such bad acting for a long time - she was really awful!!!
The ending - it really sucks - this 6 years after - I don't know what it was put there for but it looked too stupid - I think if they ended without it - everyone would feel fine with that.
I would give it 7 points and just as you said for it's cuteness but that's all))

Great drama. Started off well and then it went downhill for me. They overplayed the love triangle. At times I was more interested about her sister's story. And then their ending sorta ruined it for me. They skipped a lot of development and paired her off with Ke Zhong and tossed Zhi Hao aside. :S

So overall I give it a 5/10. It could've been soo much better.

If you give it a 5 out of 10 then you must be new to TDramas. This is one of the better ones. LOL

No....surprising I've been watching Twdramas the longest. Wow its been 5 years already! :O

It's a combination of me being really critical..most dramas I watch never get higher than 7/8. And I'm very picky when it comes to acting...Ella imo is a terrible actor. Her over acting is probably why I gave it a 5. But I loved the scene lighting and toning.

hehehe..I've been watching twdramas for like 7 or 8 years already...and I think that you are right! Ella's acting in DWL is a little over (like in ep.1, carrying a refrigerator? hello?????) but I still find her cute in her crazy antics...But because of JY's cute performance, which I think is one of the reasons why I watched this, I am giving this an 8.5...though its ending is way off for me...there are still some issues left that are needed to resolved...And like what Lib has said, the cinematography is way better than the others...and in my point of view, DWL is much better than Devil Beside Me (ewww...and other twdramas)

Omg dont get me started on JY. His cuteness was to die for! I think its the first time I saw him acting soo lovey-dovey.

I'm not really one to rate DBM drama yet..seeing I only watched the start+end but I read the original manga and loved it.
