Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a time-travelling humanoid alien known as the Doctor who explores the universe in a sentient time machine called the TARDIS that flies through time and space, whose exterior appears as a blue police box from 1963 London which is when the Series first aired. Along with a succession of companions, he faces a variety of foes while working to save civilisations, help people, and right wrongs.

The BBC announced on 7 June 2011 that 14 new episodes have been commissioned following the 2011 Christmas special, all starring Matt Smith. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill will leave their roles as Amy and Rory during the series, before the Doctor meets "a new friend". On 15 June 2011, BBC One controller Danny Cohen stated that some of the episodes will air in 2013, though a reduction in the length of series 7 has been denied by Moffat. In September 2011 Doctor Who Magazine stated series 7 will air from late 2012.

Ahem! I'll just add something then.

I enjoyed Season 1 immensely but when they changed Christopher Eccleston with David Tennant I was annoyed. I'd gotten used to Eccleston's quirkiness and felt that Tennant lacked it. But as the series progressed Tennant became a huge favourite of mine and now I'm annoyed that he's left and has been replaced with Matt Smith. He unfortunately still hasn't grown on me but he plays The Doctor pretty well still.

In the latest series we learn that River Song is actually his daughter! That was quite surprising. Forseeable, at least in that last ep, but still surprising <:O.

Looking forward to the latter half of the series...

which doctor who you guys talking about there was one in the late or early 70s then there was one in the 90's but then i think there was also a cartoon called doctor who or was it a anime crossed over to be a cartoon, but i seen few of these mysterious shows, but I know they were on pbs channels here cause i watched right affter benny hill show or was it another crazy show pbs had on...but sci-fi channel had the last dr,who I know of on..but I haven't seen any sign of it lately

You know, you've got a point there. But didn't it end with her saying she was his daughter too? Or perhaps I've jumbled things up <:O

Lol, now I really am looking forward to it! Just saw the trailer and the Nazi symbol in the background :O

We're talking about the most recent one. The one that started in 2005...I've not seen any of the older ones so I can't really say much about them...

We're talking about the most recent one. The one that started in 2005...I've not seen any of the older ones so I can't really say much about them...

I know you can't I seen one or two of the older ones and one episode of the newer one they are very eerie in many ways, so you may watch them, but I tell you I couldn't really put my mind up to watching anymore than I did

Why couldn't you watch more? Supposedly this new series is a lot more darker and ominous than the older series...it's definitely not boring to say the least :P

Well there should be becouse i think its ace,but i`m not happy about series 6 becouse it makes no sense to me.
