|  General Arts Discussion General Arts Discussion Thread. About: Topics in here shall always remain art-related. It can be something related to posts and/or threads in the section, as well as a daily encounter with art that doesn't necessarily need a thread, yet you can still talk about it here. This can range from a visited museum to your favorite artist's latest project, to an annual dog dress-up competition. Don't be afraid to ask questions concerning art or the section here, someone should be able to help you on your way if they are posted here. Rules:

o.k. well then!! my favorite painter of all times is Michelanelo Merisi da Caravaggio <3 for the simple reason because of the very first painting i saw from him, "The death of the virgin Mary," was absolutely... awesome. back in the times that he lived, whenever you saw paintings of the virgin mary, she's always being lifted to the heavens with a halo around her head and body and a chorus of angels surrounding her. but when the church asked Caravaggio to give them dead virgin Mary, he actually gives them what? a dead woman We don't really know that all this fancy stuff happened when she died, and we won't know any of that until we go 6ft under. but what we do know for certain is that she died and that she was highly loved and heavily mourned for a time. it's just so different and depressing that if he were alive, i would be his stalker-groupie-dirty mistress.
