An excerpt of the first paragraph: Outside of Disney World and the flashback-inducing Boomerang Channel (Boomerang has been playing Dexter’s Laboratory for a while now. Yeah, Dexter’s frickin’ Laboratory is considered a “classic.” Feel old?), nothing tops the Pokemon franchise in the nostalgia factor. For the most part, Pokemon has blocked out any recollection of my first through fourth grade experiences. Instead of schoolyard games and book reports, all I see are Rattatas and Pidgeottos. Back in the late nineties, kids like me were so fiendishly obsessed with Pokemon, that we just assume that we should know everything there is to know about the franchise. It’s only when you take a retrospective look as an adult that you begin to pick up little details that the games, cartoons, and cards sneakily revealed. Pokemon has a lot of excess baggage and weird little easter eggs that you all probably missed out on. Without further hold up, I present merely some of Pokemon’s many secrets. WARNING: This article may cause your head to explode. If you’re not into that sort of thing, maybe you should skip this one. Pokemon Secrets, Pokemon Easter Eggs, Pokemon Facts | Video Game Editorials,... - StumbleUpon Read it! I shat bricks! D:

In pokemon red and blue, your rival has a Raticate when you fight him on the cruise ship. The next time you see him, in Lavender Town (The graveyard city) he is inside the graveyard area, and you battle him. He no longer has Raticate. A missing Raticate and being at a pokemon Graveyard, what does it mean? :O

Read some of the article. : o And I have to say, when I first got the games, I never noticed whatsoever that ekans was snake backwards. I was really impressed by the original naming, even. >> It took me way too long to figure it all out. D: |

scizor > scyther still :/ the loss of speed isn't so bad when it has a Stab/technician bonus priority move :X as for venamoth/buterfree, their originals make no sense. even if they we're switched last minute, they clearly kept their names. why would something looking like a butterfly be called venaMOTH, while the one that looked like a moth is called butterfree, which shares 7 letters with butterfly. me neither. |
