| Eidos and Deus Ex sites hacked, 80,000 users’ data stolen | PC Gamer "The Deus Ex site and Eidos.com were defaced and taken down yesterday when a splinter group of the hacker organisation Anonymous broke through Square Enix security to steal the personal data of more than 80,000 registered users. According to IRC chat logs of the hackers’ conversations unearthed by Krebs On Security, they plan to release the information on file sharing networks, and are recorded discussing whether to release the “src” as well. It’s unclear whether they mean the website source code, or that of one of Eidos’ games." Anyone want to comment on the sudden burst of hacking? Is this all because someone decided to have a go at Sony and see it was relatively easy to break in to?

I predict more on the horizon, too. Microsoft are banning all "suspicious" and modified accounts, Sony has been attacked on all fronts, and now this.

Well apparently so. You can be a separate hacker and say you're a part of anonymous and tada, a mass of people get the blame. Yeah you would think they'd keep a tighter hold on the information, but with all this information getting "stolen" so often: maybe it's just a trick to give it away to advertising companies.

Not really, in context: anonymous is a bunch of "anonymous" people working towards what? Freedom and anarchy? So they go and steal information to sell, and knock off psn. Wait a minute

The people you're taling about are, maybe like 500 criminals? What about the rest of the world? The "group" that calls itself that way to hack sites and other stuff casts a slur on anonymous thats all. It's like saying humans are bad, because there is a group of hackers that call themselves humans. | |
