I believe the top 3 espada are vasto lorde, which is halibel, stark and barragan. And i think we all agree on that. And I also believe we all agree that 10-5 are adjuchas or lower, which leaves one dude left in kinda the middle.

Ulquiorra...

I personally believe he is a vasto lorde because of these reasons.
1. There are implications in the anime (at one point when hitsugaya was explaining the different type of hollows a sillhuett of ulquiorra appears when he speaks about vasto lordes.)
2. His personality, the top 3 which are espadas has a calm personality, and rarely show any emotion whatsoever. And are not in hurry of proving themselves (often a sign of weakness.) Like grimmjow, nnoitora. Ulquiorra however seems quite different, he doesnt seem to care about proving himself, and he is always calm and collected.
3. When hitsugaya explained about hollows, he said that vasto lorde are very intelligent. And I believe everyone can see that ulquiorra is quite intelligent and always analyzes the opponent (atleast ichigo) and he seems smarter than the other espadas below him with quite a bit.

Thats my opinion whats yours?

Well A problem with this is the quick battle between Grimjaw and Ulqiorra, it appeared they were at least close in power level, but this was a small sample size.

i dissagree, grimmjow was clearly scared of ulquiorra, thats why he used the little box thing to trap him in

and it didnt exactly look like ulquiorra took grimmjow that serious. He had 1 hand in his pocket the whole time, while grimmjow was going apeshit trying to survive. It was only the suprise of that weird box thing that saved him.

and by a significant amount aswell, but anyway... When you had his inteligence, personality and power he is more like the 3 on top than nnoitora, grimmjow and the rest.

And besides I dont think aizen would trust important missions to adjuchas because their lack of intelligence, atleast i wouldnt.

those are all excellent points, This may be easier to determine if we see Starks, Halibels, or the older guys powers.

Actually the top three could be self created Arrancar and from 4-10 could by ones Aizan created.

i doubt it, grand fisher was self created, and hes a ****ing wimp, it said that hollow have never been very successful at removing their own masks, they dont end up very strong, or even complete arrancars

Manga Spoiler: Grande Fisher had his mask removed in the manga after returning to HM By the healer that healed him, So i would say that he is not one of Aizens created Arrancar.

As well as Nel was #3 and the she decided she was tire of fighting and killing so i wouldnt say that she was a Vasto Lorde
