I just got broadband (used to be on dialup).
I have 1500kb/s and 12GB of downloads a month. After it reaches the 12GB it slows to 64kb/s but no additional fees. I'm in my firsty month still, 10 days left, and only at 75% downloads.. but its going very very slowly (i'd say arund dialup speed). Any ideas why? I cant find anything about htis on my internet plan site.

I forgot to mention - this means I can't watch any anime with the last 3gb of downloads i have left as it stops every 2 seconds to load again!!!!

So you have satellite internet right? Do you use lime wire or something like that?

I'd recommend getting a different ISP.

Depending on the type of broadband you have, different things may affect the speed.

Cable: If a lot of people around have it and are using it, (like others on your street), then you'll notice a slight slowdown, since it is a shared internet for areas.

Satellite: If anything is blocking your dish, you're gonna get slowdown. My grandpa had this for a month, and it was by far the worse I've ever used.

DSL: If you have any phone problems, then you're gonna have internet problems. I never had DSL, so I can't really say much else about it.

If you are using a router and are connecting to the router via wireless, the farther you are from the access point (the router) or if there are a lot of dense/thick obstructions in the path the waves have to travel, the weaker the signal.

its ok guys, i solved it.. the billing is for the full month on my first month, so i only got 9gb instead of 12gb! haha

lol, but becareful if you use lime wire or something similar to it, it will continuesly upload stuff.

^^if u are using lime wire, just make sure u turn off the "sharing"

yeah I usally have lime wire off when im not downloading music for my new amv's.

yeh i use frostwire (basically same as limewire but better).
I dont have sharing enabled so it doesnt upload a lot.
