yeah every time i rotate my desktop monitor it goes off on me and i have to play with the power cord for like 30 minutes..not a joke to get it working again..and so im gonna buy a new one and my question is..
I Have a HP computer and everything..so would a different brands monitor be fine or does it have to be an HP Monitor?
Currently on my laptop cause im pissed with my desktop

Should be fine, just make sure the plugs match up, I would suggest bring the cord with you. But the guys at the store you buy it from can probably help more

maybe the power cord is loose or something. Like Leiv said, it's best to ask the guys at the store for more help, they should be able to solve your problem

the good thing about buying a new one is that now LCD monitors are cheap. i bought mine for 200 dollars, a 19" widescreen that is awesome.

Your power cord may be bad... You should try another cord out first; that is if you have an extra one or have another monitor you can temporarily rip it off of.

You have to be careful... A lot of the larger and more high end monitors may just only have a DVI input, so your computer must have a DVI out or you will have to purchase a VGA to DVI converter and a DVI cord.

Plus their service sucks.

You could probably find an answer on google faster. That is what I do, and I am even able to learn something new; and when someone else has a problem similar I can help them more or less. I guess I am pretty fortunate, being a PC nerd and being surrounded by a few of them up at school.

...If you need Geek Squad or Firedog (or whatever) to help you "guard" your PC... Then you shouldn't be purchasing one... And most likely they would try to push items on you, to make it seem like you need those products.

(Just try my suggestion out, first... Then if it doesn't work then consider purchasing a new monitor, while heeding my other bit of advice. No need to spend money unnecessarily)

No the brand doesn't matter at all. I'm using a Gateway monitor with a PC I built myself. As long as you have the right connections it'll be fine. VGA is the most common, though mine (24" LCD) uses a DVI cable.
