Actually I've yet to see a DBZ character cause anything comparable to a nuke without extreme effort. Vegeta once did something comparable by suiciding...

And don't go talking about planet destruction, planets in DBZ are made of papier-maché, they break from an attack with an explosion radius three times the size of my house.
