Changing shape isnt a power, Kenpachis is rugged and deformed, its not a normal looking non-released katana. Hes in Shikai

he may be in shikai but not at the maximum level kenpachis to strong for a weak sword

thats kind of the point of his character, anyone can be strong with a strong zanpakuto, but kenpachi has a beaten up katana, and still ****s everyone up

His is in shikai like ichigos but he has'nt learned any powers yet like how ichigo leaned getsuga tenshou

and he never will, thats not the kind of zanpakuto he has.... and even if he did, i doubt he would use it, he wouldnt want to really on some crazy power from his sword, he would want to deafeat his enemy himself

That is exactly why he does'nt have the powers in the first place he's reisatsu is so strong that it cant be sealed like ichigo but if he ever learns to fight along side it will show him how to use it properly in shikai.

watch the power of his shikai( when he gets it )to turn out to be nothing more then the ability to make the sword bigger or something like that
