He does not have shikia. And if he does he only got it after losing to Ichigo. To reach shikia you need to call your swords name. He was not able to do that. He was able to beat everyone by simply using his own spiritual pressure, hence Ichigo not being able to cut him with the same sword he defeated Ikkaku and Renji with.

I still don't believe he reached shikia because to reach it you need to become one with your sword to reach it (or at least acknowledge it as a partner) and I don't believe he would be able to do that.

He claimed he wanted to get stronger after the fight with Ichigo but would have decided to do it on his own.

I hate to disagree but they say that his sword is alaways in shikai just look uo Kenpachi on wikipedia and look at his zanpakuto secton then youll see lolol

Yes yes. I know that everyone thinks it is shikia. I am not questioning that. It is my belief that they are all wrong. (by everyone I mean everyone in the show not everyone in this forum, although both are true) They couldn't comprehend someone being that powerful without even reaching shikia so they assume he has it, but they also say to realease your sword you need to call it's name. He def not done it pre fight with Ichigo and I don't believe he has done it yet. Ichigo was able to defeat a lot of hollows with his sword not in shikai and he was also able to beat a restricted Renji, all with just his spiritual pressure. Then when Ichigo fought Zaraki in SS he was not able to cut him with a sword he had just recently beat a lt. with. Zaraki's spiritual pressure just chillin was more that Ichigo had in his sword. "The spiritual pressure I release unconsiously is more sharper that your's when you focus it into a point in the form of that sword." -Kenpachi. Therefore he would not need shikai to beat Ichigo but when they went head to head for the final blow Ichigo cut Zaraki's sword just how Kisuke cut Ichigo's sword down to the hilt durring his training.

It is after this point that the discussion can begin. I do not believe he reached it because he would never allow his sword to be more that a weapon he used.

There is no discussion before that point because he did not have shikai. You HAVE call the swords name to reach it and that is something he did not do. All the members of SS that thought it was fully released like Ichigo's sword may have not known he didn't know the name, but that is inconsiquential

well thats true to an exetent agin I apologize for disagreeinfg with someone who thinks the same thing Ichigo was in Shikai before he went to SS he got it during his training with urahara so technically you dont have to know the name but I still belive this is not Kenpachi's full-form Shikai

I'll have to say sorry myself cause i don't mean to seem like a jerk but go back and read manga 66 or whatever corresponding episode that would be but durring the training with Kisuke he calls the name of his sword there by releasing it into shikai. Kenpachi had not done this. There is nothing that has shown us that he actually was able to hear his swords name just assumptions some people have come up with.
