I was happy with death note until L died... since that i knew that the next it would be pure 100% major crap....it ruined a very good anime...

It was indeed a fool hardy ending. The way he lost was idiotic not to mention how Near took all credit for the victory ( Mikami's foolish action to go to the bank). I believe there were many ways of ending the show and that was the worst on my list. I agree with many of you on the part were light became stupid, clumsy and even childish towards the end. Even so if he just placed the smallest amount of original deductive skills he would have pulled out on top. |

Wow I guess I'm not the only one who thought the series ended in a off beat manner. I read the manga and I thought ending just wasn't right at all. In the last few chapters light gets completely out of character and starts going crazy over a problem that isn't as complicated as the ones he faced before. Honestly If Light were to meet Near earlier on in the series in the same exact situation he would have thought up some ingenious plan and saved himself from being found out. But instead Light ends up going out in a way that isn't true to his character. I'm not going to say that they should have ended the series with Light winning, but I am saying that they should have ended it in a manner that fits the series more.

Exactly, my sentiments exactly. I would have preferred Light to leave in a brighter light, and definitely NOT go crazy. Perhaps like saying good bye to his investigation team, and wishing Near and everyone else on good luck changing the world for the better as he has tried. After that sad yet nicely dramatic speech he will begin to phase of and as he does he sees L there looking at him and they leave together with nothing stopping their friendship. |
