Code Geass - Mix of mecha, sci-fi, politics. Closest I can get to this is anime is Gundam Wing mixed with death note. It is currently my 2nd favorite anime to death note, action is fast and furious and very unexpected.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai(second season) very good mistery anime 50 episodes both season but it may creep you out and think that your 7 year old cousin will murder you with a baseball bat
