Once again Hylia, your powers of observation have impressed me...and you're right, about every thing! There is no REAL portrayal of a strong FEMALE character in this anime(EXCEPT, in my opinion, 1)every one of the one's you have mentioned are all LACKING 2/3 of what a strong female character should be...but like I said, I believe there may be one female lead that may foot the bill. Even though she has had almost NO screen time, and we hardly know NOTHING about her, I think that Ichigo's Mom(Masaki) is the winner here! She was SMART & BRAVE enough to marry Ichigo's Dad!(you think she didn't know who and what he is?)She gave birth to 3 beautiful children(with one of them turning out to be serious BADASS) and she made the ULTIMATE act of Sacrifice and Love to protect one of her children....if all these things doesn't add up to every thing a strong, willful woman should be...I simply don't know what to tell you, but in this Man's book...she is the perfect 10!

Some people need to read back. 5:1 ratio if you ask me. People neglect the positives when there's negatives, no matter the ratio. It's just plain silly to say "they lack 2/3 of what it takes", because in the end strength is variable, you can't measure it as a measurement and separate it into fractions. Not to mention that you lack so much as justification as to what they don't have that makes them strong. It seems more than anything that most of you people choose to see feminine qualities as weak, which just isn't true and that's about the only negative stereotyping that I see here. And let's face it, your idea of what made a woman strong is "she got married, and had kids, then did a duty for her children". Way to bring us back to the '50s. And as for "big *things*" hell, there's only really Inoue, matsumoto and halibel, and there's 23 main role female characters. 20:3 in favour of "big *things*" isn't so bad, especially when you consider the fact that there's a proportion of women in real life who pride themselves on having "big *things*" or desire them.

| Limping Samurai | Ok, so at most that makes it a 20:4 (since i missed out Nel from my character list before by accident) ratio, that's still a pretty big gap from "all the women". And in fairness, Yoruichi isn't portrayed as having breasts which are large enough to be considered simply there for show, more at the higher end of the average scale.
