So who thinks Luffy's not even going to get a piece of the action at Marineford?

Why not? Its gonna be a huge legendary battle with the strongest of the world, but Luffy still is the main character. Oda has never forgot that.
He is there to rescue Ace, but I am sure that someone strong will get in his way, and he'll have to defeat him.

Well, let's look at things. There's forty-three Pirate ships there that are all allies to Whitebeard, eight of them being New World pirates apparently. There's also Whitebeard's Flag Ship, the Moby Dick, and three other ships that submerged from beneath the water with one of them having Marco, the First Division Commander on it. Somehow I doubt Luffy is going to be anything more than an ant in this war.

First of all, before this chapter, it seemed that the WB had a disadvantage in numbers and power.
-WB forces were him and his division commanders(btw I'm not sure, but since Ace is captive, and the other one was killed by Blackbeard, there are only 2 commanders left).
-On the WG side.Shichibukai, Vice-admirals, Admirals. All the high ranking marines are there. On top of it, there are random pirates who want to kill WB too, like Crocodile, Blackbeard and his crew etc.

Now that WB has brought his allies, things seem to be in balance. And Luffy looks like an ant, but I am sure that he will end up playing a big role in all of this(something like Whitebeard dies in combat, but Luffy manages to save Ace).

There are 16 division commanders of Whitebeard's crew each commanding a crew of 100. There is a grand total of 1,600 men in Whitebeard's crew.

Source for that is One Piece Yellow Data book. No, I don't have it, don't ask me to show it to you. That's the source posted up on the One Piece Wiki, most of the editors on there being members of Arlong Park who don't upload bullsh'it. So, it's a credible source of information.

Now Ace is captured and Thatch was killed by Blackbeard. Counting Marco and Jozu, that still leaves twelve commanders left to fight. I'm certain to be a commander you must be a competent fighter and incredibly strong.

Luffy's surrounded by all of these big time pirates and he's still just a rookie. He's nothing compared to these guys.

Well, now it makes sense that at the latest chapter it said 14 commanders are on board :O

And of course he is just a rookie. And this is his time to shine, doing something big.

The title for the latest chapter 551 change to "Yonkou Whitebeard " instead of "Whitebeard and the 4 commanders" on onemanga...lol
