that's kind of what i was referring to. i thought that might have been some form of the mantra that the sky preists used.

mantra is predict what the opponent the user is fighting with is thinking...
But i dun think it will be able to predict what is the consequence of that particular movement....
If mantra is able to predict what would happened(refering to the result)
enel mantra should tell him that electricity don't work on luffy...

I think he simply realized that Mihawk was too fast for him even in Gear 2nd.

yeah, but the fact that he specifically "saw" his arm getting cutting off instead of just thinking "i'm gonna get hurt" leads me to think otherwise.
