I.N.V.U. is the story of four teenage girls, Sey, Hali, Jae Eun and Rea - the main character being Sey. It is about their friendship, lives and troubles as they experience the many twists and turns of their first romance, and taking the first few steps to achieving their dreams.
Synopsis:
Sey, a girl of 16, wakes up one morning to find that her mother is moving to Italy for work - and that their house is being sold. However, her mother decides to leave Sey behind - leaving her in the care of Mrs Kang, who has a strange son named Terry. However Sey discovers that Terry is actually a girl named Hali, who is forced to cross dress as her dead brother to help her mother deal with her sibling's death. Her mother firmly believes that she never had a daughter, and that Sey has now become that daughter.
Sey, along with what seems to be the rest of the female population of her school, has a crush on handsome homeroom teacher, Hajun Cho. However she discovers that Hali, her new "sister," knows Hajun VERY well indeed, aswell as discovering that she has attracted the attention of Siho lee, the bad boy of the school who has a very uneasy reputation, who is boy friend to Sey's friend, Rea Hoo. Rea has other things to think about aside from boy trouble - including her dream, which, it seems, is on the verge of coming true, of becoming a famous model.
Meanwhile Jae Eun, Sey's best friend, have fallen hopelessly in love with Simon, a young pastry chef.
And so their lives slowly unfold, leaving you hanging on the edge of your seat most of the time.
This four volume long tale is a masterpiece of shojo (girl) manga - earning a well deserved reputation for Kim Kang Won, artist and writer of the series.

Characters:
Sey - 16 year old girl whose dream is to become a famous radio and t.v. broadcaster and presenter.
Hali Kang - Strange 16 year old girl who is talent spotted by Taegi Qwon, owner of KKW produnctions, who wants her to model for him.
Jae Eun - Bubbly, Colourful girl whose ambition is to become a manga artist. She enjoys cosplays and pastries.
Rea Hoo - Beautiful, ambitious girl, friend of Sey.
Hajun Cho - Sey's homeroom teacher, a handsome 23 year old who is heir to a huge fortune. Hali's old tutor.
Siho Lee - the bad boy of the school, and develops a huge crush on Sey. But will his efforts to make her fall for him succed? or does Sey have eyes only for Mr Cho?
YoungJun - Hajun's brother, Sey's childhood friend. During Issue 3 he transfers to Sey's school in an effort to get a girl friend, namely Sey.
Taegi Qwon - Sly, rich friend of Hajun Cho. He talent spots both Rea and Hali for modelling.
Simon - Young Pastry chef. Comes from a long line of Pastry chefs, and is also Jae Eun's crush.

While I.N.V.U. Issue 3 was released by TokyoPop in 2003, I.N.V.U. Issue 4 will not be released until September this year.
This manga (first 3 issues) is perfect for girls, although boys may find it entertaining aswell. It is available from many bookstores including Borders, and is also available on Amazon. I have also taken the time to scan in a number of images from the series - which you can find in the album named "Manga" in my pics. (Myspace)
