Legendary Animes That Didn't Cut It For Ya

So, there's always a set of anime that comes to any anime fan's minds when they think of the shows that have either stood the test of time, are an all-out great show, or are just legendary for its groundbreaking innovation in some way.

Now, I know we all have our personal favorites that haven't reached the great masses, but thats not what I'm talkin' about.

I'm talkin' about anime that reaches people who aren't anime lovers to begin with, such as Dragonball, Rurouni Kenshin, Death Note, or FullMetal Alchemist; the animes that are so popular that they transcend the fandom of animegeeks.


Now I've always had an issue with some of these so called 'legends': maybe it is because some are old, or just because I have a personal grudge against them... and here's where this thread goes.

I want you guys to post and rant (coherently) about an anime that you know a LOT of other people love that for some reason or another you can't stand or it just scuffs your nips in a way that isn't too pleasant.

So here's to start off: my problem anime: FMA. I don't get why people like it, I really just have no idea. The story is eh, the animation is even eh-er, and the battle scenes are extremely boring and executed poorly. I do enjoy the fact, though, that many important characters die off in random ways and leave the rest of the gang to figure out what the heck is going on. Mind you, I probably haven't seen this anime in about a year, but it still makes me mad. The ending? I mean, wtf? I hate that ending, its totally pointless. I don't want to include many spoilers for people who haven't seen it, but man was that the worst ending ever.

*puts on flame hat* Inuyasha. Someone near and dear to me (<--emphasis on this factor) is absolutely nuts over the series, so I have tried to like it. And tried to like it. And tried to like it. EPIC FAIL! I'm hoping it's an acquired taste or that I'm just not "ready" for it yet. Maybe some day I'll look back at this post and cringe at my utter lack of good taste. For now, there's something immature about a few of the characters that almost grates my nerves.

But fear not, Inuyasha fans, for I have not tasted the subbed version (something I tend to overwhelmingly favor...). There is hope yet.

Yeah Naruto is beginning to get on my nerves, partly because it doesn't deliver. Big letdown with the whole "3 year journey" to make Naruto better, and he still sucks. The only cool person in Naruto is Shikamaru, even though he says bothersome way too much.

And Inuyasha, same problem, I saw 5 minutes and I couldn't stand it. Subbed... maybe someday.

you know i really dont hate anime any well with a few exception but those anime are horrible on all levels to everyone anyway

for example Spider Riders and DICE

but of course those dont count cause no one likes them

Ugh. That was just.. beyond boring. The characters were 2D and boring, the plot was predictable and all but non-existent and I had absolutely no sympathy with anything that went on.

I know it's supposed to be like... a parody. Well, the characters are supposed to be a parody.. I think.. they were entirely not done well enough. they were only slightly exaggerated from the non-parody and so they were just flat out unoriginal.

naruto and One pice could never get into them found them boring for some reason
