Where did ichigo get all his powers from?

Is anyone curious about why a human like ichigo can defeat shinigamis and the espadas.

Well, remember that Icigo's father is a shinigami of apparently captain level, and he defeated grand fisher (right?) without releasing his zanpakuto (or really trying too hard, if I remember correctly). Also, some humans like Orihime and Chad have powers without being shinigami, so it's possible Ichigo just had high level espada power in him anyway which has been gradually released through rukia, his training with urahara, his bankai training, and his vizard training. Ichigo was born with spiritual pressure, and by chance might of been born with shinigami abilities. Two different things shinigami abilities and spiritual pressure. Chad and Inoue obtained their powers from Ichigos overflowing spiritual pressure, same goes for the reason why his zanpaktou is always in shikai.

Anyways, turns out he had shinigami abilities and the only was to obtain them was to die. So Kisuke Urahara killed Ichigo and threw him in the pit. Thus resulting in him digging deep in his soul to find his shinigami abilities before he turned into a hollow. But he found them a little late, and actually turned into a hollow. Which in turn was suppressed down into his soul once he found them though. His hollow is him if he were a hollow, and grows in power when he does. He then defeated his hollow in the stuggle for dominance of his soul, and obtained his powers and spiritual pressure, along wiht his own.

Kuchiki took Rukias powers from Ichigo, he obtained his own.

True, byakuya took rukia's powers and he got his own. But, wouldn't all humans have shinigami/spiritual powers lying dormant within themselves until they die or have urahara separate their soul from their body? Otherwise, how would new souls in soul society become shinigami? It's possible that he just happened to have the strongest base spiritual powers of any human on earth, but it's probably because of his father. Not genetically, but his sneak attacks made Ichigo super strong.

Agree with whewt's explanation. I don't think Ichigo's dad sneak attacks made him stronger. It doesn't make sense.

^ actually it's not a thought, somebody said it in anime about them getting power by being near. Probably Yoruichi (oh forgive me, I bet I messed up with the name) said it was so and remember the fairy Inoue has said, that her power was born thanks to Ichigo

No not all humans have shinigami abilities. Rukongai is full of souls without powers. Rukongai was mentioned in the last episode of Bleach, and the whole begining of soul society invasion was held there. But if Isshin were to have any affect on Ichigos powers it would be genetics. Kisuke and his friends are the ones responsible for his current level, but thats a whole other topic.
