I,m thinking of reading one piece manga would i have to start from the beginning or can i start were the show is right now?

you could start from the beginning if you wanted to, but starting from where the show is works fine too

If your at a certain point in the anime, why wouldn't you pick up there in the manga? Starting over is up to you, I just started over, its amazing! I'll find the chapter for you, but this really didn't need a thread. Theres a manga discussion thread above.

Manga is amazing. It doesnt loses humor, yet is much more matured than the anime.
Still i reccomond you reading the pilot. Jas the same title as 1st chapter. Tells you how Luffy got his scar.

Meh, I kinda liked the pilot chapter of OP a lot, but if they continued the manga like that, I doubt it'd be as popular as it is.

Anyways, it's nice to contrast the differences, so starting from the start in the manga is fun too.

(generally speaking, there's more blood/detail of violence in manga. As an example, in one of the earlier episodes, there was the episode where Orihime gains her powers, and fights a hollow that shoots seeds to take control of people, cept in the anime, it wasn't as much seeds, and green goo -_- In contrast, the seeds in the manga looked something like this: Bleach 42 page 16 | One Manga Meh. You notice a lot of small differences like that in comparing mangas to their anime adaptations. The seeds woulf have been cooler though :P
