Yeah, basically I am looking for an anime in which the main character goes on an adventure / quest to become stronger and evolves in skills and preferably though this is rare changes in appearence i.e armor / clothing / new weapon. Here's a few examples I've watched: Beet the Vandel Buster Guyver the Bioboosted Armor (Watched a few episodes) Hunter X Hunter (Hate the main character, uncool, ugly and kiddy) Bleach (Draggy and cliched) Naruto (Same thing) Rurounin Kenshin (Loved it) Hajime no Ippo (Watched 3/4 got bored of the repitive boxing scenes) Kenichi History's Strongest Discipline (Pretty lame and boring) Code Geass Yu Yu Hakusho (Ending was the worst ever) Flame of Recca (Same with the Yu Yu Hakusho) D.Gray Man Dragon Ball Z (Was nice but the anime is very old and gets the long season puts me off) Rave Master The Law of Ueki (Horrible ending, lame fighting and heavenly powers) Considering: Black Cat Hitman Reborn Saint Seiya Hajime no Ippo: The New Challenger Would appreciate it if anybody could help me recommend some. Hate mecha absolutely, guns and modern fighting war etc. such as Viper's Creed. Thanks alot. |

Start with Black Lagoon. If you want exciting action you literally can't beat it without having giant mechs fighting on top of a distant galaxy...speaking of which check out Gurren Lagann. They take the meaning of mech anime to the next level and have some interesting character development.

Think of it this way. you may not like to eat onions. but you like to eat french onion soup. now there is no way they can make french onion soup without using onions, plus onion isnt the only thing they use to make the soup either. But as long as you like the soup, thats all that matters. or another example like spaghetti. you get the point. If you cant get over the mecha thing, to be honest, you will miss out a lot. So be open minded, a lot of them are not bad at all. no one gonna force you to watch gundam you know. if you can stand naruto and bleach. i suggest you watch One piece. black lagoon is a master piece. but it is moden gun/sword fighting. moribito: guardian of spirit is another excellence piece of work. martial art. If you are really into those RPG ish anime. honestly, you already seen most of them. read the Berserk manga would be what i suggest you to do next. if you somehow manage to agree to try some animes with mecha in it. let me know and i will give you some more suggestion. if u dont, well, your loss
