Logias cannot be hit by physical attacks. Period. It's got nothing to do with whether you hit them unaware or not, you cannot hit Kizaru in a state where he's 'normal' because he's a logia, it'll go through him no matter what, unless you use haki.

Neither Kizaru nor Enel has shown any proof of being about to use haki, so don't even try to argue in that direction.

I think they have to master their ability to a certain point to be like that. I know you say comic relief, but I say training. Luffy did catch Ace and Smoker off guard and put them through a wall. Now I don't think this applies with Enel and Kizaru because they both probably mastered theirs. I do think that people who haven't mastered their fruit have an 'off' mode because otherwise Ace would burn whatever he touches.

this is the first time i believe in Vincent lol... after using my brain and thinking hard i concluded that logia can be in normal state... i mean if logia type cant return to their normal state. how can they eat or drink. for example if crocodile cant make his body normal he cant touch solid object because he was sand. also how can ace digest his food if his body was made of fire and no stomach at all? it is said that logia ablities in to pass through physical attacks so it was just an ability not their real body. but for BB its execption his body will always be normal.
