So I was flipping through channels today and then I came upon an old cartoon, Popeye the sailor man. Now I was thinking what if Popeye joined the strawhats? XD What would you think about it? Stupid? Interesting? Do you think he could make it as one of Luffy's crew?

I certainly expect some ppl to get on here and say "wow ur such a dumb a**".

Oh and this guy is Popeye in case u don't know who he is

No you clearly don't understand. While Popeye was a sailor he ate a DF that made his body able to achieve unbelievable strength if he consumes spinach. Geez, it was like in the first episode of Popeye guys and they always mention it in OP.

OK. Lost.

I know Popeye eats spinach for extra strength..or "muss-kuls"as he calls them..

And I can see (maybe) some stuff with OP.
It was first weekly comic, then made it to "film". Later cartoons.

Also

Popeye likes to eat a certain food to power-up = Luffy
Popeye is strong = Luffy (et al)
I can't remember..but I think he also got lost as well = Zoro
Popeye looks out of one eye and smokes = Sanji
Depending on version/year -Popeye is quick-wit at times = Usopp
His build, like someone said earlier, his forearms = Franky
Oh and he liked to hum and song a toon or two (even sing) = Brooks

Technically he is always fighting a fellow soldier, sailor = marine

The animation got better as it went alone and Popeye had a whole cast of characters that joined him..
There's a movie too.. with Robin Williams as Popeye..in 1980.

Here's I think the first ep, which has Betty Boop, a very pop character during that time who's appeal crossed over... even to Japan. She along with other cartoons at that time were not targeted for "kids" they were entertainment.
