After Prince of Tennis, Eyeshield, Buzzer Beater and Dear Boys, what else??! - AnimeCrazy.net Forums

Why are there so few anime revolving on sports around??? I mean, once you have seen PT, BB and DB (refer to title) what else am I supposed to watch? Should I simply drum up the courage to watch Naruto (no offence but yuck), Dragon Ball (hell, i have grown up watching that... no more i beg you!!) and I My Me Strawberry Eggs (don't get me started on this one)?

Any suggestions

What is a girl to watch when apparently there are only about 30 or so anime on sports out there???

read manga? Theres probably alot of Sports mangas compared to sports anime

hungry heart wild striker- nice soccer show
hajime no ippo - boxing
captain tsubasa - another good soccer show
aoki densetsu shoot! - soccer show
one outs - excellent baseball show

buzzer beater ? I really couldn't get into it at all............maybe i'll try again

Wild Striker , Hajime no ippo , One outs, Initial D, Air gear (kinda sportish)

and if you watched Eyeshield 21 anime...you should finish reading manga
the manga goes a lot further into the story..while anime randomly stops

In addition to some of the above, give these a shot:
Whistle (I preferred this to Hungry Heart Wild whatever); soccer
Major; baseball
Dan Doh!; golf
Bamboo Blade; kendo

A New show, Cross Game, is getting good press, but I haven't watched it; baseball

Now if tournament and teams is what you're liking in the shows you watched, some shows that aren't sports per se may appeal like:
Saki; mah jong and Hikaru no Go; Go

If you tolerate One Outs by all means give Akagi a peek.
