I'm pretty sure they are the same, like two sides to the same coin.
When his hollow has more power - hichi plays, when his shinigami has more power - zangetsu plays.
But as it's been said before, ichi's bankai is really new, and judging his growth rate so far I think it's safe to say that he's doing pretty well don't you think?
He may only have one move (which he now uses differently to make his swings stronger) but meh, give it time, other captains have had hundreds of years (or less) and come up with these random moves, he's had it.. meh? a year? yeah..

That cause he's overpowered. He is new at being a shinigami, has already learned bankai, and can fight some of the captains. Weird.

And he'll probably (hopefully.. :\) discover new things about it later. ^^

Well hmis bankai so pretty cool i do think there should be a second part but it is pretty good for the most part

yea,Ichigo's bankai is cool,but it could by much better .Ichigo's bankai main element is the high speed ,but in the last fights this element ,just in bankai without the hollow mask, wasn't a so huge gap between ichigo and his opponents .When he master ,control his hollow ichigo stop or slow down developing his bankai ,and he put more accent on his hollow powers.
When he will rediscover zangetsu,then maybe he came to us with some now ,awesome moves,i'm sure of that.

The only cool thing about Ichigo's bankai is that it gives him a cool outfit... there's nothing else to it.
