as some may know, I'm having a USA traditionnal food dilema. My best friend's Bday is comming up. At the same time of his master degree graduation. And work is sending me over in USA arround that time. It's the perfect timing. So I asked Pat what he wanted as a bday cake. He doesn't like cake, but he said "maybe a peach cobbler... yeah i'd like that..." Now you have to understand. I have no clue what a peach cobbler is. It's a traditionnal american dish, I never even heard of it, and never even dreams of tasting one. I'm in the middle of a whole freaking darkness! So I'm up to my 3rd Peach cobbler (My roomate is making a peach over dose so I have to bring them to work so they can give me their opinion >.< ) I had many question, and some are still whitout a answer.... ... what is suppose to be the top part texture? So far, my favorite is a recipice i adapted, that make the top kinda crumbly, and the middle a bit more chewy, like a cookies just out of the oven.... but... is this what a peach cobbler should be? And for the filling, i'm totally lost >.< I find all the filling i've made so far way too sweet >.< I even tried to compensate with lemon juice and cinnamon... even a hint of whiskey once.... but nothing.... Also, next time, i'd add cosrnstach to the mix, this seem way too "soupy" for my taste... but is a peach cobbler suppose to be soupy? or more ooze out? Man i wish i tasted peach cobbler before =__= silly american with their typical food! (at least, like most the americans recipe i work on, they are super easy to do lol american like their food simple ~ and never too labor intensive...)
