This. We don't know yet. For all we know there could be a VL that's above him.

I doubt anyone that's still alive that we know off Is above Aizen.

Actually yeah, only Gin. I just doubt the rest... Possibly Isshin but meh, I doubt It since he's already fighting Aizen.

i have heard theories that ichimaru Gin is the one pulling the Strings behind it all, because the way he likes to toy with people, and his demeanor points to a controlling personality.

I doubt anyone is above aizen... Gin can not be above aizen, seeing as though he praised him acouple manga's ago about how the captains were wrong on being scared of Aizen's Zanapkutou... which you have to elabrate on, who can be above Aizen?... Aizen is sure to have already made All of the captains seen his zanpakutou, Sep Ichigo, we dunno about isshin i believe... But seeing as though Aizen said he's known about ichigo sense forever then we can't doubt ishin hasn't seen his zanpakutou either, unless he has a plan for both ishin and ichigo.

Though here's a theory... >.>... I'd be pissed if they make Aizen ask Ichigo to join him, because of all the things he's made ichigo go through and made him stronger... That would dissapoint me much...

Aizen's ego couldn't allow him to take orders from someone unless he was secretly manipulating them (just like he did in Soul Society). Even if a higher bad guy is revealed, Aizen will betray him.
