Default Any recommendations?

Running out of shows to watch, and I need some new ideas. Here are some the animes that I've seen and liked (mostly mainstream, shame on me):

Hajime no Ippo
Berserk
Hellsing
Bleach
One Piece
Gungrave
Kaiji
One Outs
Busou Renkin
Prince of Tennis
Yu Yu Hakusho
Major

Animes that I've tried and didn't enjoy:

Darker than Black
Hitman Reborn
Shaman King
Zatch Bell
Kaze no Stigma
Hikaru no Go
Shaman King
Naruto+Shippuden
Gintama
Saint Seiya
Rave Master
Detective Conan
99% of Mech animes

Except for Naruto and Rave Master, all the animes that are on the second list I stopped watching after anywhere from 2-20 episodes, so if there are any on the second list that get exceptionally better later on in the series, feel free to tell me so. Also, I don't wnat to hear any "Why don't you like __" comments. Suggestions only please! Thanks in advance for anyone's recommendations, I appreciate it!

... I appreciate the list, I really do, but it would be so much more helpful if people just picked one or two suggestions, and maybe a short sentence explaining why. I kinda get overwhelmed when I look at long lists. But, since I had already been thinking about trying d. gray man, I think I'll try that one next. Thanks!

I know you said you don't really watch mecha but if you havn't tried Code Geass you should. its less about the mecha, also:

Soul Eater (good fight scenes, pretty good plot)
Vampire Knight (romance type with some action)
Death Note (really good psychological components)
Black Lagoon (really good plot, awesome main character, hard for me to stop watching)

Elfen Lied...
Try telling my friend that there's nothing wrong with mainstream shows, I guarantee he'll have a 5 minute speech prepared to try to prove you wrong. Not that I agree with him, though. And Elfen Lied was also one that I was considering. Thanks!

I watched the first episode of Black Lagoon once and wasn't too interested, but like I said, I'm pretty much out of shows to watch, so maybe I'll pick it up. Thanks!

Pft, I have a short sentence to explain them all, they're awesome.
Gintama = comedy + action + parody
Samurai champloo = stylish samurai story
Cowboy bebop = classic story of bounty hunters travelling space, amazing soundtrack too
School rumble = comedy + romantic too, really funny series
Full metal alchemist = tragedy + action + comedy + all around awesome plot, remake is airing now.
Full metal panic = really funny + action too
that was way too much effort :/

not liking an anime just because its mainstream is just retarded. Yeah some of em get predictable or repeatitive and lots of people just latch on to it cause its the thing to like but for the most part its popular cause its a good anime

Actually I'm confused? How can you create a 5 minute speech against mainstream anime?
