Marine (military), a member of the military in an infantry or amphibious force under the authority of a navy, or in several cases, of an independent amphibious forces (e.g., the United States Marine Corps) Marines just sounds cooler than navy imo :O

There is always more than one way of translating a word, one word in japanese can have several in english, i see no problem with it at all and navy and marines are both the same thing just called something different by two different countries
