Intro:

I think this game is proberly one of my fav real time stratergies out there atm, basically online play is much much better than the single player campaign.
There are good features such as create a hero, and use them to summon in online play.

Armies:

Men -Men, have Ithilien Rangers which have fire arrows, which are also a powerful upgrade to your units.
Elves -Elves have Mirkwood Archers, which obviously have long range attacks, Silverthorn Arrows which are extremely powerful.
Dwarves -Dwarves however have the best siege weapons, and if you have a person who can control Dwarves well, you can win easily.

Goblins -Goblins have a big unit which are quite good in attack mode.
Mordor -Mordor, well, not a good army, but they do have the ability to lose well, Just a good fortress.
Isengard -sengard are an exceptionally good army, the Uruk Berserkers are one of the best units in the game

They all have their strong points ad weak points, to state the obvious.

Maps:

The maps are all very good, and are all locations from the film, but my all time favourites are Bridge to Nowhere 2 v 2, and Grim Bridge. Those are the map names, but Grim Bridge is also a 2 v 2 map. Each maps comes with its own strategies, and things that would be a bad idea to do in that map. That is why playing online or with freinds is a good idea, so you can learn.

Online:

The online is good, but once the battle gets going – it must lag for alot of people. As soon as you unleash that first catapult, or pick them off with your archers, you can just smell lagg around the corner.
However, the online is a whole truck load more fun than that thing they call a campaign. Online, you have a level with each army, which takes quite a long time to et up after you reach five. If you want a good challenge, try playing online. There will be a fair few professionals!

Campaign:

The campaign is quite good, although not a patch on the online. So you have your good campaign, which focuses on there Heroes of Middle-Earth beating Sauron, and you also have the evil campaign, which focuses on the villains of Middle-Earth defeating the good. In the expansion, you have the Angmar campaign, but that is another story. Okay, so in the campaign, there are basically no ways for you to lose, unless your playing on Hard. It is however, a good way to get back in to the game before going online.
Although relaxing, it is extremely boring going through it. It is like 'Splosion Man – The aim is to complete it as quickly as possible, because it is that easy

Conclusion:

So, this is a very good game, but it has its bad sides. The campaign is too easy, an expansion that wrecks the balance of the game.
I think if your a RTS gamer fan, and you haven't tried this one out then its easily worth the shot.
