Not necessarily. Although I think Ikkaku's whole goal is to become strong enough to defeat Kenpachi

Honestly, if he ever defeated Kenpachi, I don't think he would even remain a Shinigami. He only became one because of Kenpachi.

i think he will keep being a shinigami if he defeated Kenpachi, knowing that if he stops being a shingami that he wont get to fight such powerful opponents. Eventhough he became one to defeat Kenpachi he still loves fighting just as much as Kenpachi....well maybe not as much, Ken got crazy love for fighting.

but still long way to go for ikkaku.but as he said he wont leave his squad cos of kenpatchi,but idk if he will go for a captain if ever he beats ken.
