Okay, so I finished watching the original 220 episodes of Naruto about a year ago, but never started watching Shippuuden. However, I'm now quite tempted to watch it, after hearing so much about it! I don't want to watch the original 220 again though. I know the basic story. But what I really wanna know is- before the fillers start in Naruto, is the basic story pretty much that

Sasuke run off to Orochimaru to train to beat Itachi and Naruto goes looking for him?

If thats pretty much it, then this thread was a waste of time. But I would really appreciate some more in-depth answers about the basic storyline towards the end. Thanks so much!

You hit the nail on the head...

Sasuke goes to Orochimaru to defeat Itachi, now Naruto and Sakura want to bring him back...
Shippuden is set in 3 years time, the goal to retrieve Sasuke is the same... ^^

I find Shippuden better than Naruto, the characters have developed, especially Sakura and Naruto. It's just more enjoyable to watch in my opinion... ^^

Enjoy watching Shippuden...
