Why does Naruto (the character) act like a child?

I post this thread, only because I am getting really tired of Naruto, always getting angry and acting irrationally (like a child). After all, isn't he a master at planning and super strong w/ mad cool jutsu. Why is he still the same character in Shippuuden as he was in the beginning?

Seriously, I don't know why and I'd like some opinions. Thanks.

If naruto was calm it would take the fun out of the sieries because he would jus be another sai (or along that line anyway)

hmph Naruto is fine the way he is most anime main characters (not all) are usually hot headed and a little slow but they have a big heart and have true potential and power, it would be boring if Naruto was like Sasuke and Naruto my fav chracter so he has a big heart and that's what counts and if he was like Sai (who i have a deep hate for) i would never watch the series

I suppose the logical explanation to Naruto's immaturity derives from his childhood. If you look back to the beginning episodes he was a shit head looking for attention. without any friends or mentors besides iruka-sensei. Even now after gaining the respect of his peers and mentors his shit head attitude still remains possibly due to no lack of discipline. ( you stated that EVEN in shippuuden he is still a child) well of course the 2.5 years he was away were spent with jairaya who I wouldn't place as a
role model. So through-out the years he may have gained battle experience and a better appreciation of others, it won't change his core personality a shit head.

Naruto needs a personality or it wouldn't make the Anime special. Imagine if all the Anime characters had the same personality, it'd be boring wouldn't it? Sure Naruto gets annoying at one point, but sometimes it usually adds some fun in the series. Even of course Naruto is still a kid, and if you consider him as an adults, it doesn't mean adults change there personality, they may act different, but nothing can change who they are. That's what makes this Anime so special, because of Naruto's personality, because of any personality.

Well one of the reasons I hate Naruto is cause he acts childish and makes all his perverted jutsu but denies being a pervert and calls others perverted. Also he is a real cocky and overconfident asshole who thinks he's the best thing in the world. I have many more reasons why I hate him but to answer you're question he still acts like a kid becuase he has no idea how to act older or mature or be a good ninja. Really his personality just defines him as a child he may not actually grow up until he reaches his 20s or 30s which I hope he never does I hope he dies.
