I'm not, I've not touched anything post gintama minus NieA under 7 and angel beats (which I dropped after the first episode)
But Level E, Togashi, right? Not a huge fan of his work.

I was hoping for a series similar to Bakemonogatari(in terms of dark comedy and word plays) or Arakawa(randomness).

House of Five Leaves (not so dark, but worth a shot for you)
Paranoia Agent

Aoi Bungaku
