Poetry Competition - February Edition

Rules:

• The poll will close on 02-16-2012.
• Contestants may not vote for their own poem, no matter how good they think it is.
• Please try to read the poems fully to give everyone a fair chance (this is not an actual rule, people should take everybody into consideration).
• Don't vote a poem if you see has the most votes before reading the others to
• Don't vote for a poem because you know it's your friend's poem (may lead to disqualification).
• All kinds of poems are accepted.
• You can enter with a poem or two
• Don't post anything to insult the author (your vote will not count).
• If you vote, leave a comment (possibly with reason, discussion, etc..).
• Not everybody has perfect grammar, try to not let it affect your decision in voting.

Poem 1

The velvet gaze

as i stare into the sea of foam,
a pearl of sunshine brings motionless,
for a ray of velvet caught my eye,
laving tingling at my fingertips with a silent cry,

as the mirage of the wind scar, for oblivion i know doesn't seem that far,
cause of the lustful blast that reached the sky,
the engines of all kinds of vehicles roar is echoing on every turnkey try?

the hearts though now flutter through the color of now the air, I want to go on home, is deep in every ones thought, though some have emptiness.
i am still stuck in awe with that color stuck in my mind, for all i see in the near gaze is a light that isn't clear.

so did this poem screw your with your mind to see what i'm replying?
well it seem the jets are all flying.
leaving the country barren with red oil everywhere,
as the leaks of diesel strickens the ground,
people is told to leave and not to come around.
site is clear,

no velvet is here,
no red to give a care,
as green grass is now everywhere,
fresh air too, wow that was a definitely a polluted scare!

Dream of Fear

I thought I walked in an Eden of lust
many things there wasn't a must
but in the end it was a dream, a mirage
rage and fear
don't come near
stand still, perfect motionless


what was left was a scar that runes to deep
was all thanks to a jump to steep
those fingertips and pearls turned me blind
velvet maze
your gaze
I only felt the passing icy wind


it was a place close to oblivion
it was love that set it into motion
first I wanted to hide from this light
mind closed
heart exposed
the only thing left was to surrender

Mirage in the Shadows

Somewhere
Deep in the darkness
Were light can't reach
Between the shadows
The rains stops
And your heart
Becomes blue
While remembering her eyes
Which were like two black pearls
Sparkling in the sunset
And the doubt of her betrayal
Scared your soul
Now your soul is crying
Slowly being swallowed by the shadows
Becoming hollow
While her image is haunting you
With every step you make
And the wind gentle voice
Whisper her name

This is goodbye my dear
they done you up real nice
that fake smile looks more real
then the one you put on everyday
A beautiful shell lying motionless
A black heart that is bound to stain
the white velvet on which you lay
Things did not go just how you planned
You still have your youth
I still have my wealth
Your fingertips now cold
Just like your eyes always were
I was taken by you trapped by lust
One thing you never had was my trust
To have all my wealth
you married an old man
I would be the first to go
you were so certain
I got to gaze at your empty beauty
and touch your soft skin
At the time it seemed a fair price
How funny a twist of fate can be
I got the memories of you without any cost
In the end it was your loss
I am wearing black not you
I will get to continue my life
Enjoy eternal oblivion my dear wife

I totally forgot it was Feb!! I missed the deadline :O

Number 4 is my favorite.

I especially like the lines quoted above.
I can just see her lying there, the old guy looking down
with a thoughtful expression, maybe a bit wistful,
but gradually turning to something like triumph....

waaa.. February edition? I really wanted to join but it's already too late >.<
I was like waiting for February but unfortunately, I don't know where and how to submit my entry. guess, ill just have to wait for March edition. hehe

i always put the themes in my blog and are in the thread here 2 in this section
the poems/stories are send to me via pm
all don't wait february or other month lol to come
if u wrote it send it even with to weeks ahead
